5A - Carlsbad Cavemen | All-Tourney

?#3 Carlsbad 9, #1 Sandia 1
The Carlsbad Cavemen won their first baseball state title since 2002 Saturday against Sandia in impressive fashion. The Cavemen who finished the year 24-5 were led by Brandon Slate who hit a monster home-run, Caleb Prentiss who earned the win and finished the year 11-0, and Devin Groves who had two RBI's.

4A - Piedra Vista Panthers | All-Tourney

#1 Piedra Vista 15, #10 Miyamura 1
For a third straight year the Piedra Vista Panthers have dominated Class 4A Baseball. Saturday against Miyamura the Panthers rolled to a 15-1 no-contest win over #10 seeded Miyamura. The Panthers were led by Kholeton Sanchez who hit a three run-homer, Cody Scaggari who allowed just two hits on the night, Ian Doughty who came in to close out the game, Shilo McCall who was 3-3 with three runs scored, and Jeremy Johnson who went 3-4. The Panthers finished the year at 28-3 thru 31 games.

3A - Portales Rams | All-Tourney

#3 Portales 8, #4 Cobre 3
The Portales Rams are the Class 3A State Champs going 25-6 on the year. On the night the Rams were powered by David Rodriguez who came in for relief to close out the game, Rodriguez went 11-0 on the mound this year. Ryan Schmidt had an RBI as did Zach Blaeser. For Cobre the Indinas went 27-4 on the year and were led by Junior Regan Ramos who had a triple on the night. This was the Ram's first state baseball title in school history.

2A Title Game Recap

#4 East Mountain 9, #14 Santa Rosa 0
The East Mountain Timberwolves are the 2012 State Champs after topping the #14 seed Santa Rosa Lions Friday afternoon. Ray Demarest earned the win and helped Coach David Naylor put a stamp on a fantastic season. They beat Pecos 2-1 in the first round, beat Texico 4-0 in the quarterfinals, beat top ranked Eunice 8-5 in the semifinals, before blowing past the Lions. Alfonso Archuleta II had two hits and scored three times, RJ Butler helped close out the game. The Timberwolves finish out the season 24-3.

1A State Title Recap

#1 Capitan 5, #2 Floyd 4
The Capitan Tigers are the 2012 1A State Champs for a second year in a row after beating Floyd on Thursday. Robert Miller hit a triple in the game Raul Villegas pitched a complete game for the Tigers.
