In the Limelight is a feature that highlgihts the up and coming prep football players from the State of New Mexico. Today we highlight Carlsbad Linebacker Bobby Mallett

Q: HT, WT, Last Season Stats, how many games did you start?
A: 5-foot-11, 220 Pounds. Had 87 tackles, one int, and one defensive touchdown as a junior

Q: You're an intense player.. Where does that come from? Why do you love high school football?
A: I am an intense player because I mentally prepare and know what I'm doing before the play even starts. I love high school football because the intensity and all the fans there cheering you on, also, because it's football and I love the game.

Q: Tell us about what it's like playing in Carlsbad? Good sized City, great football field, great coach. Tell us about it all.
A: Carlsbad is a great place to play because it's a good place to live and people here live for football, the stands are filled for every game. The coaches push you hard and get you where you need to be.

Q: You're the defense leader this year. You're favorite defense play to call is? Who is another linebacker to watch for?
A: My favorite defensive play is in our heavy package, called (Slant Cover 3). Austin Graham is a linebacker to watch he has been working hard.

Q: Five players to watch from C-BAD are?
A: Dillion Caddell (RB), Marcus Arrington (WR), Codey Tanner (S), Garret Bryson (DB), Rodney Holcomb (QB)

Q: How do you plan to be a senior leader in 2012?
A: I plan on being a leader by showing up to work everyday and showing my team that I'm here for business and not to fool around.

Q: Tell us about the Eddy County Rivalry Game. What was it like beating Artesia in 2011?
A: Beating Artesia this year was such a great feeling because we haven't done it in a long time and Winning always feels good period.

Q: You guys lost to La Cueva in the play-offs at home. What did you learn from that game? How will it make you guys better in 2012?
A: I learned from losing to La Cueva Is that anyone can beat you no matter what and to play every down like its your last.

Q: Highlight your family
A: I have a brother and sister named Kyle and Kaila Mallett, also a mom and dad that support me no matter what.

Q: Do you plan to be at the Elite? If so what are you looking forward to?
A: Yes, I plan on attending and I wanna see all the competition that's out there to see where I rank.
