2012 Team Previews: Last year the Highland Hornets went 6-5 on the season under First Year Head Coach Derek Maestas. Their roller coaster season started with a last second 15-14 loss to Cibola then a 54-6 win over Santa Fe, followed by a 13-8 loss to Sandia.

The Skinny: In district they went 4-0 to earn a play-off spot only to lose to Eldorado in the play-offs by two touchdowns. Speed at all positions is fruitful, size will be the issue this year, but yet Highland is still the District 5-5A team to beat.
