Each week NMPreps.com will select Players of the Week and publish the award winners each Monday. Coaches and fans are urged to send in weekly top performers after Friday night's game to nmpreps@yahoo.com. This will greatly insure that we select the correct player for each award.

WEEK THREE: TEAM OF THE WEEK OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Goddard Rockets The Goddard Rockets come out of week 3 a perfect (2-0), both wins coming in impressive fashion. The Rockets were able to dictate the momentum of the game by pounding the rock all night long and the time of possession differential might be the most important stat of tonights game other then the turnover differential. Offensively the Rockets were lead by Quarterback Anthony Ornales who had 17 carries for 148 yards and two touchdowns, and Cody French who had a 243-yard effort. Cody French - Goddard For the second week in a row Cody French has been more than stellar for the Goddard Rockets. In last week's NMPreps.com Game of the Week against Rio Rancho, French reeled off a memorable performance against the Rams rushing for 243-yards on the night (189 at half) and a touchdown. On defense, French recorded two interceptions, and also recovered a fumble recovery. French out of the Class of 2014 is clearly one of the top prospects in the State of New Mexico this year and will headline the very talented Class of 2014 Class. Goddard hosts Belen in week four.
SMALL SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NORTHERN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cory Serna - St. Michael's
The St. Michael's Horsemen now 3-0 on the season dominated Lovington in a rematch of the 2011 3A State Title Game Saturday in Santa Fe, New Mexico 40-0. The Horsemen jumped out to a 20-0 lead over Lovington and never looked back. Daniel Ortega really stepped on the day running the rock for the Horsemen, but it was Cory Serna at Quarterback that really was the difference making throwing for 194-yards and a couple touchdowns to lead the way.
Zach Miyamura - Miyamura The Miyamura Patriots have upset Farmington once again, this time it came in a 22-14 win over the Scorpions to shake up the Class 4A High School Football Rankings. The Patriots were led by three year starting quarterback Zach Shank who was more than money on the day. Shank threw for 269-yards, ran for 104-yards, and two touchdowns. Miyamura takes on the Class 4A defending state champ Aztec in a week four marquee game.
METRO AREA PLAYER OF THE WEEK SOUTHWEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Daniel Cones - Sandia
The Sandia Matadors now 3-0 on the season have a great amount of depth on offense and rarely their defense gets the nod for their impressive start. Against Volcano Vista in a very important 31-14 victory RB/LB Daniel Cones stepped up on the defensive side of the football to record11 tackles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and 48-yards rushing the football. Cones is two year starter at Sandia. The Matadors play in a marquee game this week against Los Lunas.
Marcus Inglemon - Mayfield The Mayfield Trojans finally earned their first win of the 2012 season with a 27-7 win over Carlsbad last weekend at the Field of Dreams in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Inglemon who we feel is a D-1 prospect as a defensive back has already ran for over 400-yards in Mayfield's first three games. Against Carlsbad Inglemon ran for three touchdowns and over 100-yards. The Mayfield Trojans host Manzano in week four.
SOUTHEAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK Video of the Week: Horsemen Shutout Lovington

In last week's NMPreps.com Game of the Week against Rio Rancho, French reeled off a memorable performance against the Rams rushing for 243-yards on the night (189 at half) and a touchdown. On defense, French recorded two interceptions, and also recovered a fumble recovery. French out of the Class of 2014 is clearly one of the top prospects in the State of New Mexico this year and will headline the very talented Class of 2014 Class.
