Each week NMPreps.com will select Players of the Week and publish the award winners each Tuesday. Coaches and fans are urged to send in weekly top performers after Friday night's game to nmpreps@yahoo.com. This will greatly insure that we select the correct player for each award.

WEEK Five: TEAM OF THE WEEK OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Team: Eldorado Eagles Eldorado The Eagles moved to 3-1 on the season with a very impressive victory over the Mayfield Trojans winning 24-14. The Eagles have won three in a row and are scoring 32.25 points on the year. The return of Sophomore Quarterback Zach Gentry has been huge lift to the group as a whole and he is clearly one of the top prospects in the State of New Mexico. Eldorado is idle this week and will take on Rio Rancho in week seven. Overall: Trevor Eulenbach of Artesia Eulenbach a junior out of Artesia High School had a stellar performance against Carlsbad last weekend in a 44-41 victory last weekend. Eulenbach threw for 454-yards and six touchdowns. On the season Eulenbach has thrown for over 1,000-yards and 10 touchdowns. The Bulldogs are 5-0 this year and takes on Las Cruces this weekend in the NMPreps.com Game of the Week.
SMALL SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NORTHERN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bryce Pompos of Ruidoso The Ruidoso Warriors moved to 5-0 on the season, their best start ever under Head Coach Kief Johnson who took over the Warriors in 2006 with a 48-14 win over the Hatch Valley Bears. On the night, Pompos was more than stellar throwing for 178-yards, rushing for 102-yards and scoring six touchdowns. Ruidoso takes on Tularosa this weekend. Cory Serna of St. Michael's The St. Michael's Horsemen continue their dominance of Northern New Mexico with a 56-0 win over the Santa Fe Demons last weekend. On the night, the Horsemen were led by Quarterback Cory Serna who set a school record with six touchdown passes and 265-yards on the night. The Horsemen are 5-0 this season and will take on 0-4 Capital in week six.
METRO AREA PLAYER OF THE WEEK SOUTHWEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Angel Gonzales of Manzano
The Manzano Monarchs moved to 4-1 on the year with a very convincing win over the Aztec Tigers in week five winning 47-20. One athlete in the Metro Area that continues to impress in Junior Quarterback Angel Gonzales. Last week he threw for over 100-yards and had over 50-yards rushing. This week Manzano takes on Valley in a marquee Class 5A match up.
Jonathan Joy of Las Cruces The Las Cruces Bulldawgs picked up an important win against La Cueva last week winning 42-21 boosting their overall record to 3-1 on the season just in time for their trip to Artesia. Against the Bulldawgs Quarterback Jonathan Joy threw for 235-yards and three touchdowns. We have to give a shout out to the Bulldawg's defense as well as the Dawgs record nine quarterback sacks against he Bears.
