Week 6 Recap
Manzano 56, Valley 24
Manzano and Valley did battle on Friday Night, as they Valley Viking hosted the Manzano Monarchs for Valley's Homecoming. The hype surrounding Valley coming into the game was quickly silenced as the Monarchs jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half of play. On the night Manzano Quarterback Angel Gonzales threw for 280-yards and two touchdowns, and ran for an additional three. The Vikings are now 2-3 but still have a chance at winning their district if they can get past Atrisco. Manzano is now 5-1 overall and 4-1 against 5A opponents. Manzano will be idle in week 7.
Cleveland 49, Highland 6
The Cleveland Storm played host to the visiting Highland Hornets on Friday Night. The Storm Controlled this game from start to finish and basically had their way with Highland. Highland drops to 1-4 on the season and are 1-4 in 5A play allowing 44.6 points against them per game while only scoring 11.0 points per game. Cleveland is now 3-2 and looking like one of those 5A teams that will be on the playoff bubble come tourney time. Tonight the Storm was lead offensively by Romell Jordan and Kian Homme, Cleveland will face off against Sandia in week 7 and Highland will face off against Albuquerque High.
Rio Rancho 49, Atrisco 28 | Highlights Here
Offensively the Jaguars were lead by senior quarterback Nate Goode who had 185 yard rushing on 19 carries with 2 TD's, also contributing was Jeremy Sanchez, and Ricci Alvidrez. The Rams were lead by Easton Bruere who had 4 total Passing TD's, Dylan Brady, Ulises Astorga and Austin Patterson all had a touchdown a peice, not to mention a stingy second half defensive unit. The Jaguars will play Valley in week 7 to begin district play. The Rams are going to be facing off against Eldorado in week 7.

Deming 14, Silver 12
The Deming Wildcats made a statement Friday Night handing the Silver Fighting Colts their first loss of the season in a 14-12 defensive contest. The Wildcats were propelled by Ismial Garrett who ran for 212-yards on the night. Deming who had not beaten Silver in nine-years led the entire game and amassed a total of 389-yards on the night. Also contributing on the night was Sophomore Quarterback Daniel Padron who threw for close to 100-yards and came threw with some very key plays to keep drives moving.
Onate 28, West Mesa 27
The West Mesas Mustangs now 0-5 this year missed a 30-yard field goal in the final seconds to lose a heart breaking against Onate for the second year in a row. Last year, the two teams went into two overtimes with Onate just edging out the Mustangs, this year the game ended in dramatic fashion once again. The Knights now 3-3 on the season were led by Quarterback Curtis Hynes who threw for 100-yards and one touchdown and Isaiah Fielder who ran for 90-yards. The Mustangs were led by 120-yards rushing from Gary Thilbeaux and 169-yards from Romio Salazar. The Knights now 3-3 will take on Las Cruces in week seven while West Mesa now 0-5 will take on Rio Grande.

Las Cruces 52, Artesia 27 | Highlights Here
The Las Cruces Bulldawgs racked up more than 500-yards of total offense Friday Night against previously unbeaten Artesia to give the Bulldogs their first loss of the 2012 season. The Bulldawgs led 34-6 at the halfway mark thanks to a few monster plays like Jonathan Joy's 62-yard touchdown pass to Las Cruces Tight End Sam Denmark and Joy's 23-yard Quarterback Keeper, and bruising 9-yard touchdown run from Bulldawg Running Back J.J. Granados. Las Cruces ran the football for 367-yards, 146 from Grandados and 88-yards from A.H. Lucero. The difference in this match up was the sheer size of Las Cruces up front defensively allowing Las Cruces to get a ton of heat on Artesia Quarterback Trevor Eulenbach who threw two interceptions on the night. Artesia finished the game with 320-yards of total offense and was held under the 30 point mark for the first time this season. Las Cruces now 4-1 will take on Onate in the first District 3-5A game of the year, while Artesia now at 5-1 will head to Leon Williams Stadium to take on Clovis.

Goddard 52, Clovis 21 | Highlights Here
The Goddard Rockets scored 44 second half points to hand Clovis their fourth straight loss Friday Night while moving to 5-0 on the season. The Rockets trailed 21-7 during one point of the second quarter, but the giant swing in momentum was due in large part by Goddard second half adjustments and opportunistic play. Clovis was led by Kamal Cass who ran for 265-yards and three scores. All of his scores came in the first half and in the second half the Rockets were led by Cody French who had 210yards on the night rushing. Clovis now 2-4 will take on Artesia in week seven. Piedra Vista 54, Bernalillo 0
The Piedra Vista Panthers moved to 6-0, while Bernalillo moved to 0-6 on the season after a no-contest match up for the Farmington Sleeper. On the night, the Panthers were led by 265-yards passing yards and four touchdowns from Junior Quarterback Isaiah Valdez. Next level prospect Bryson Martinez caught for over 100-yards and three touchdowns, Jacob Armijo caught for over 100-yards and a touchdown, Stratton Waller had close to 100-yards rushing helping the Panthers breeze past Bernalillo. The Panthers ranked no. 4 in the latest NMPreps.com Rankings take on St. Pius X in two weeks. Bernalillo will begin district play in week seven against Los Alamos. Aztec 57, Del Norte 17
The Aztec Tigers are back to their winning ways after pounding Del Norte by 40 points Friday Night. The Tigers now 2-3 on the season were led by 305-yards passing yards and four touchdowns from Adam Lucero who did his best personation of Mr. Football on the night. The Tigers also got production from Ryneal Lewis Adams who ran for over 100-yards and scored two touchdowns. Brad Hardin chipped in with 100-yards receiving and a touchdown and Braden Goimarac caught a touchdown as well. The Knights were led by 263-yards passing and 97-yards rushing from Tyrelle Jackson. The Tigers take on St. Pius X in week seven. The Del Norte Knights now 2-4 will take on Volcano Vista. Buy your Aztec Tiger photos at the Farmington Daily Times.

St. Michael's 57, Capital 3
The St. Michael's Horsemen moved to 6-0 this year with a no contest win over the Capital Jaguars Friday Night in the Capitol City. The Horsemen racked up close to 400-yards of total offense and were led by 154-yards passing and two touchdowns from Quarterback Cory Serna. Capital now at 0-5 on the season has been outscored 229-3 this year, scoring their first points of the season against likely one of the top defensive units in the State of New Mexico. The Horsemen now at 6-0 will take on 0-6 NMMI next week and have outscored their last five opponents by a score of 206-5.

Moriarty 50, Albuquerque High 0
Morarity and Albuquerque High squared off on Friday Night as the Moriarty Pintos would host the visiting Albuquerque High Bulldogs. The Pintos will move to 3-3 on the season after a lopsided victory over Albuquerque High. The Bulldogs are now 0-5 and averaging a measly 3.8 points per game offensively and are allowing 48.2 points per game defensively. The Bulldogs face off against Highland in week 7. Moriarty will face off against Roswell in week 7.

Alamogordo 34, Hobbs 14
The Alamogordo Tigers moved to 2-3 on the year with a convincing win over the Hobbs Eagles Friday Night. The Tigers led 15-0 at the half and put pressure on Hobbs Quarterback Brayden Price who was held to 123-yards and two interceptions on the night. Alamogordo was led offensively by Cody Alfar who scored two touchdowns and had 81-yards on the night. The MVP of the night was Alamogordo Tiger John Matzke who ran for 214-yards and two touchdowns. Alamogordo will take on Deming in week seven. The Hobbs Eagles now 1-5 will take on Lovington in a Lea County Rivalry Game.

Kirtland Central 28, Gallup 20
The Kirtland Central Broncos defeated the Gallup Bengals in a Northwest Rivalry Game Friday Night, an important win for first year Kirtland Central Head Coach Kevin Graham. The Broncos were led by Rashaun Nez who had an 101-yard interception for a touchdown, the game breaking play on the night. Gallup's Dominic Martinez ran for over 150-yards, but that was not enough to stop the Broncos at home. On offense the Broncos were led by Alex Kamae who ran for 120-yards on the night. The Broncos will take on Capital in week seven while Gallup now at 2-3 will take on Valencia.

Farmington 21, St. Pius X 13
The Farmington Scorpions earned an important win over St. Pius X Friday Night which will help their 2012 cause to make the 4A play-offs. Farmington was led by Kyle Reynolds and the play of quarterback Jacob Lucas on the night. The Scorpions now 4-2 this year take on Bloomfield next week, while St. Pius X who is now at the .500 mark at 3-3 with take on the Aztec Tigers.

Texico 21, Ft. Sumner 18
The Texico Wolverines moved to 5-0 this season with a three point win over a very good Ft. Sumner ball club. The Wolverines were led by Senior Running Back Shay Harrison who ran for 211-yards and two touchdowns. Also contributing on the night was Rallin Harris who threw for just over 100-yards. Ft. Sumner drops to 3-3 on the season.
