WEEK SIX: TEAM OF THE WEEK OVERALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Team: Goddard Rockets The Goddard Rockets now 5-0 on the season and the overall No. 1 ranked team in the latest NMPreps.com Top 25 Rankings scored 44 unanswered points against Clovis to win 51-21 last Friday Night at the Wool Bowl. On the night, the Rockets were powered by their outstanding offensive line thanks to efforts from Kullen Wooten and Juan Vidals clearing running lanes for Anthony Ornelas and Running Back Cody French, French would run for 200-yards on the night. Angel Gonzales - Manzano The Manzano Quarterback Position is pretty amazing to watch each year as this program continues to produce play-makers each year in their spread option attack. This year Junior Quarterback Angel Gonzales has thrown for over 1,000-yards in five games helping the Monarchs to a 5-1 season record. Last week against Valley he threw for 280-yards, two touchdowns, and ran for three additional scores.
SMALL SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NORTHERN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Shay Harrison - Texico One of the top overall small school football players in the State of New Mexico over the last two years has been Shay Harrison and last weekend against Ft. Sumner, Harrison led the Wolverines to an important 21-18 victory. Harrison ran for 211-yards and two touchdowns as the Wolverines moved to 4-1 on the season. Adam Lucero - Aztec The Aztec Tigers have won two in a row and are now 2-3 this year heading into a monster game against St. Pius X. Lucero was pretty much on point last weekend against Del Norte throwing for 305-yards passing and four touchdowns. This is the second time this year that Lucero, a senior at Aztec High School has hit the 300-yard mark. n 0-4 Capital in week six.
METRO AREA PLAYER OF THE WEEK SOUTHWEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dallin Brady - Rio Rancho
The heart and soul of the Rio Rancho Ram's defense is Senior Safety Dallin Brady who had a monster performance last Thursday Night against Atrisco Heritage in the Ram's 49-28 victory to move to 5-1 on the season. Brady, a three year starter at Rio Rancho recorded 14 tackles, had two tackles for losses, and even scored a touchdown on offense lined up as a tight end. Complete Metro State Farm Write Up Here
Ismael Garrett - Deming One prospect that impressed this summer at the Fifth Annual NMPreps.com Elite Combine during the running back individual drills was Ismael Garret out of Deming. This weekend against Silver in a marquee match up, Garrett had his breakout performance rushing for 212-yards against one of the top defenses in Class 3A.
SOUTHEAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK Video of the Week: Goddard over Clovis
Anthony Ornelas - Goddard As the Goddard Rockets continue to roll into the 2012 season, we honor Quarterback Anthony Ornelas as the Southeast Player of the Week for a superior performance on both sides of the football. Against Clovis in a 51-21 victory, Ornelas ran for over 100-yards, threw for over 100-yards, and scored three touchdowns, one on offense rushing, one passing, and one on defense when he returned a fumble 50-yards for a score. ?
