WEEK SEVEN: TEAM OF THE WEEK OVERALL/SE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Team: Los Lunas Tigers The Los Lunas Tigers now 6-0 this season breezed past Valencia County Rival Belen 40-0 last Friday Night to make a giant statewide statement. The Tigers racked up more than 400-yards of total offense and once again their defense came through in big fashion as they have now held five opponents to less two scores this season. On the night QB Chris Wisneski scored three touchdowns and Jalen Chavez scored two. Trevor Eulenbach The Artesia Junior Quarterback keeps adding impressive feats to his season resume throwing for 401yards and five touchdowns against Clovis last weekend in a 54-48 victory over the Wildcats. This season Eulenbach has thrown for 1,818-yards, 25 touchdowns, and just six interceptions leading the Bulldogs to a 6-1 season record. Artesia is idle in week eight.
SMALL SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE WEEK NORTHERN PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marcus Lopez - Santa Rosa The Senior Running Back out of Santa Rosa had a Mr. Football Type Performance Friday Night against Estancia helping the Lions to 7-0 start. In a 51-0 victory over Estancia, Lopez ran for 291-yards and three touchdowns averaging 22.4 yards per carry. Lopez also recored six tackles and an interception on defense. This year Lopez has ran for 1,316 yards and 16 touchdowns. Timothy White - Grants When looking at next level running backs from the Class of 2013, 210 pound Running Back Timothy White out of Grants certainly comes to mind. Last weekend against Miyamura in a must win game, White rattled off a 181-yard performance with two touchdowns helping the Pirates to a 36-18 victory. This season White has ran for over 500-yards and 10 touchdowns. This weekend Grants takes on Los Lunas in a very crucial District 6-4A Battle.
METRO AREA PLAYER OF THE WEEK SOUTHWEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jalen Chavez - Los Lunas
The Los Lunas Tigers rolled past Belen 40-0 thanks to another impressive performance from Jalen Chavez the 2014 Prospect that has had just a stellar season in 2012. Against Belen Chavez ran for over 150-yards and racked up two touchdowns on the night. On the season Chavez has ran for over 800-yards and eight touchdowns helping his team to an impressive 6-0 season start.
Jonathan Joy - Las Cruces The Las Cruces Bulldawg Offense has racked up more than 1,000-yards of offense in the last two weeks alone. A massive offensive line is the catalyst for one of the more dominating offenses in New Mexico this season. Quarterback Jonathan Joy threw for 388-yards and three touchdowns against Onate last weekend. On the season Joy has thrown for 1,476-yards and has a 14 to 3 touchdown to interception ration.

David Howes - Rio RanchoThe Rio Rancho Rams No. 1 in Class 5A according to the latest NMPreps.com Rankings were down 38-31 with just minutes to play against Eldorado last weekend in the NMPreps.com Game of the Week. The Rams were able to score thanks to a late touchdown pass from Easton Bruere to Tristen Foley. With the game 38-37 with just 9.9 seconds to go, Howes called a time out and the Ram's sent their offense back onto the field to go for the win. A QB Bootleg gained the two-points the Rams need to win 39-38.
