Today we recap the second round of the APS Metro Basketball Tournament.

Volcano Vista 67, Albuquerque 55
The Volcano Vista Hawks outscored the Albuquerque Bulldogs 27-15 in the final quarter of play to advance to the APS Metro Semifinals where they will meet La Cueva on Friday. The Hawks were led by Sam Haywood who had 21 points on the night.

La Cueva 71, Rio Grande 58
The La Cueva Bears were led by a 26 point effort from New Mexico Lobo Commit Bryce Alford as the Bears cruised in the semifinals finals of the APS Tournament. La Cueva is 9-1 on the season.

Sandia 61, Valley 50
The Sandia Matadors advance to the semifinal round beating Valley by 11 Wednesday Night in the APS Metro Tournament. Sandia was led by Tim Brennan and Jordan Jones on the night. Brennan had 14 points in the win. Sandia will take on Atrisco Heritage Friday.

Atrisco 81, Eldorado 78
The Atrisco Heritage Jaguars made a big statement Wednesday Night beating Eldorado by three. The Eagles were the No. 1 seed in the Metro Tournament and even 32 points from Cullen Neal was not enough to overthrow the red hot Jaguars and Head Coach Adrian Ortega. Note: Zach Lee missed the game with a broken lower vertebrae and is scheduled to miss four to six weeks.
