Week Thirteen: Thursday night is a much anticipated night as they come in New Mexico High School basketball with key match-ups.
Thursday Night Highlights
(Kyle Henderson, Owner of NMPreps.com brings you the highlights)
1. Defend their title: Not only did the Eagles (Eldorado) beat the La Cueva Bears the team that they faced in the 2012 title game the Horsemen of St. Mike's defended their title beating Hope Christian. Ironically both teams that lost La Cueva and Hope were ranked number one in New Mexico .
2. Matadors the new number one?: Sandia Matadors beat District opponent Manzano High School and move to 2-0 in District 2-5A play. The win could also place the No. 2 team in New Mexico to the top as the number one team coming Monday morning of week 14. It will be the first time the Matadors have held the top spot.
3. Scorpions in full control: The Scorpions of Farmington high school beat Piedra Vista once again and move in control of the District 1-4A lead. Head coach Paul Corley in only his first season has the Scorpions back in the conversation of tournament bid and could even host a first round game.

(From Thursday's Preview)
4A Bubble Game: Grants 62, Belen 51. I said on Thursday morning that Grants didn't really have a shot but needed this win if they wanted to jump into the consideration. Well, consider them to be talked about and on the verge of possibly sneaking back in. The Eagles on the other hand have shot themselves in the leg or wing and could find themselves OUT and have too much damage right now.
More 4A: Gallup 72, Miyamura 46. Gallup needed the win and now move into a slightly comfortable runner up role in District 6-4A. They could get some help with their seed but need to continue winning these District games.
3A Movement: Pojoaque Valley 58, Robertson 40. Perhaps still living on the big win over Sandia Prep on Tuesday the Cardinals suffer yet another loss in District play putting them behind leaders Taos and PVHS. The Cardinals should go dancing but will hit the road in the first round.
Game Coverage: La Cueva Gym was rocking
Student Crowd: Eldorado was one of the best I've seen. Love the Big Faces.
You better of won: Taos over Raton
Small School Division Game of the Night: Pecos Rolls.
Intriguing Game: Shiprock didn't make it intriguing.
50/50: They didn't have one still 0-46. Crazy they could have made a lot of money.
