Grine: Lessons Learned

State Tournament - Bubble Teams: Okay, I am not going to lie - the NMAA, Me or any system - more than likely won't get it right. In 5A, do you take Manzano who is winless during Districts or do you take a team like Rio Grande or the winner of Cleveland/Rio Rancho who has at least won game(s) in District? I will give my best updated version a little later today.

2. District 5-5A looking a little more clear: First place is still in the hands of Valley (over Rio Grande, 56-51) second is Albuquerque High (over West Mesa, 45-38), and tied for third place is Atrisco Heritage (over Highland, 58-48). Atirsco and West Mesa are tied at 5-4 and will will get to settle it on the final game of the season as they play each other.

3. Pecos number one seed?: The Panthers have a flawless record and won again last night over Santa Fe Prep, 80-47. The win was impressive and the Panthers, as a 2-seed, 3-seed or 4-seed (stretching it), will be a major threat and contender.

Wednesday Prime Time Player: Aaron Lujan

Part of the Panthers package that is fully loaded and ready to show what they have in March. Lujan dropped 21-points last night and looking to place himself, among other Panthers, in conversation of 2A player of the year.
