#9 Farmington 7-3 @ #8 Moriarty 7-3
The Farmington Scorpions took third in district after losing to Aztec and beating Piedra Vista in a wild ending to District 1-4A play. Farmington finished the season at 7-3 and won their last five out of six games of the season. Quarterback Jacob Lucas has been a big part of their offense that has totaled 27.7 points per game this year. Their defense has been quietly good allowing just 13.2 points per game. The Moriarty Pintos at 7-3 on the season have won their last five games in a row. With convincing wins against Roswell, Santa Fe, and St. Pius X (All play-off teams) in the final games of the season Moriarty is the team no one is talking about or it seems that way. The Pintos are scoring 34.9 points per game and are led by Justing Manning and Adam Smith at running back. Watch for Bobby Tapia on the defensive side.

#12 Roswell 6-4 @ #5 Deming 8-2
The Roswell Coyotes have won three out of their last four games of the season, but had enough wins to garner the final position in the play-offs. On the year this team has been led by Jarrett Vaz at tight end/defensive end who has close to 200-yards receiving and four sacks on defense. Deming went 8-2 this year losing to just Belen and to Artesia, yeah they might be better than you think. Running Backs Ismail Garrett and Jerome Sandoval have helped this team produce 28.7 points per game and Quarterback David Padron has been the un-sung junior Quarterback performing exceptional down the stretch. On paper this match up looks more even as Deming beat Santa Teresa 21-14 and Roswell beat Santa Teresa by a score of 41-14.

#11 Santa Fe @ #6 Aztec 5-4
The Santa Fe Demons are going to the play-offs for the first time since the late 1980's. Their 5-5 record came from wins against Albuquerque, Espanola, Los Alamos, Bernalillo, and Capital so clearly they have not beat a play-off time team this year. The Demons however do have some athletes than are dangerous including Jordan Booth Homer at Quarterback and Anthony Abeyta at running back. Isaiah Taylor and Marcus Alarid are their top two linebackers. The Aztec Tigers 5-4 this year have won their last four out of five games with just that three point thrilling loss to Piedra Vista back in week 10. Adam Lucero has been pretty much unbelievable and will be added to the NMPreps.com Mr. Football Watch List, last weekend against Kirtland Central he threw for over 200-yards and returned two interceptions for touchdowns against Kirtland. Watch for Brad Hardin as well, one of the top New Mexico Receivers you don't know about. Aztec is scoring 33.0 points per game on offense.

#10 St. Pius X 5-5 @ #7 Piedra Vista 8-2
The Sartans played some ugly football last Saturday against Moriarty losing 32-13 and from week to week this team has seem to of had identity issues. What is clear is that they have a solid veteran Head Coach in San Juan Mendoza and some talent in the backfield thanks to 200-pound T.J. Sanchez. The Sartans are scoring 27.9 points per game and are 2-2 in their last four games, their marquee win ironically is over Piedra Vista a game they won 39-28 back in week eight. The Piedra Vista Panthers are 8-2 this year, but 2-2 in their last four games of the season. No doubt they have a ton of talent and what is great about their rematch against St. Pius X is they get to prove to themselves that round one was a fluke. On the season, Isaiah Valdez at quarterback has been fantastic hooking up with Bryson Martinez all year long. Don't forget about Jared Armijo, Statton Waller, and Dyan Terry, one of the top offensive linemen in the State.
