La Cueva 72, Valley 61: The La Cueva Bears improved to 5-1 with a big win over Valley High School (3-1) in a battle between two teams in the Top-10 rankings this season. Bryce Alford led the Bears with 46 points with Joe Anaya finished with 26 points for the Vikings.

Sandia 84, Clovis 70: With one of their biggest wins of the season the Sandia Matadors (6-1) upset the number three team in the State the Wildcats (3-2) with a 84-70 win. Tim Brennan paced the Matadors with 23 points on the evening. DJ Blackmon kept the Wildcats close with a 25 point game performance.

Eldorado 84, Rio Grande 72: The Eldorado Eagles (5-0) stayed perfect on the season with a 84-72 win over the Rio Grande Ravens. The Eagles were led by Zachary Lee with 22 points and Cullen Neal with 21. The Ravens found 13 points from Dennis Lucero.

Rio Rancho 63, Volcano Vista 61: In a close fought championship game of the Joe Armijo Classic the Rams of Rio Rancho came out ahead with a two point win. The Rams led by sophomore Brady Patterson, 29 points, improved to 5-2 on the season.

Cibola 52, Mayfield 25 In the consolation match of the Joe Armijo Classic the Cibola Cougars finished with the thirdplace trophy with big 27 point win. The Cougars move to (3-3) on the season they were led by Preston Bungei with 13 points.

Espanola Valley 55, Kirtland Central 47: Winning their first year robin robin event the Sundevils improved to 9-2 on the season with the win over Kirtland Central. The Sundevils were led by Jared Garduno and his 16 points.

Capital 49, St. Michael's 47: The Capital Jaguars won the Capitol City Invite with the close two point win over Top-25 team St. Mikes on Saturday night. The Jaguars moved to a 8-1 start to the season.

Santa Fe 44, Gadsden 39 (OT): The Santa Fe High Demons moved to 4-5 on the year and received a big win on Saturday night in overtime over Gadsden. Both teams needed this win to boost their resume. The Demons were led by Elliott Nicholas who had 16 points. Gadsden found 12 points from Tres Chaires.

Girls Box Score Recaps

Mayfield 49, Hobbs 47: Proving their dominance in the top ten battle the Mayfield Trojans move to a (10-0) start with the win over Hobbs in the Mel Otero Championship. The Trojans were led Daeshi McCants 24 points. The Eagles move to (9-1) on the season with the loss, found 16 points from Mackenzie Latimore.

Gallup 67, Cleveland 58 The Lady Storm moved to 6-3 on the season with a big win over Gallup. The Storm were led bu Courtney Lawson and her 16 points.

Clovis 40, Rio Rancho 25:The Lady Wildcats moved past Rio Rancho on Saturday by 15 points. The Cats were led by Carrie Sharo who had 11 points.

Hope Christian 57, Volcano Vista 48 In the Championship game of the Joe Armijo classic the Huskies pulled out an impressive weekend. The Huskies were led by Marissa Perry and her 16 points.
