No. 1 Clovis 62, No. 2 Mayfield 48
The No.1 Clovis Lady Wildcats took on the No.2 Mayfield Trojans in the Class 5A Girls State Championship and it was evident from the 1st half that the talented Wildcats were the team to beat. The Wildcats were able to outscore the Trojans 23-16 in the 2nd quarter and they never looked back. Leading the way for the Trojans was Daeshi McCants who had a team high 22 points and she also had 7 rebounds. Game Highlights Here
No. 2 St. Pius 57, No. 5 Academy 53
The No. 2 St. Pius Sartan's took on the No. 5 Academy Chargers in the 4A State Championship title game, in a bout that featured to top tier teams that know how to bang in the paint with the best of em' The game was a back and forth contest until the very and and featured multiple lead changes. However, it was the Sartans who would come out victorious and would give Coach Damian Segura and his team the long blue coveted blue trophy. Game Highlights Here
No. 6 Logan 58 , No. 5 Melrose 51
The No. 6 Logan Lady Longhorns took on the No. 5 Melrose Lady Buffalos and it was the Logan Longhorns who would come out of the gates with a bang and rely upon a strong 2nd quarter to gain a nice lead at the half. The Longhorns would never trail in the game and were able to stave off a 4th quarter comeback by the Longhorns. Leading the way for the lady Buffs was Ember Woods who had a team high 21 points and 12 rebounds and also contributing was Reagan Carthel who had 16 points and 14 rebounds. Game Highlights Here
No. 1 Hope Christian 42, No. 2 St. Michael's 29
The No.1 Hope Christian Huskies took on the No. 2 St. Michael's Horsemen in a rematch of the 2012 Class 3A State Championship. The Huskies got the lead early and held the ball in order to slow down the pace of the game and the first half was reminiscent of the 2012 state championship from that point on with a lot of defense and a stalling offense, this time however it was Hope who had the lead and would get a little bit of revenge for last years title game loss. No. 1 Laguna Acoma 51, No. 3 Dexter 39
The No.1 Laguna Acoma Hawks took on the No. 3 Dexter Demons in the class 2A State Championship title game in a matchup that featured two run and gun teams that flew up and down the court all game long. The Demons played valiantly but the Hawks were able to maintain the lead they built in the first quarter and never looked back. The Hawks were able to come away with the State Championship thanks to an impressive offensive performance by Anthony Carpio who had a game high 23 points Game Highlights Here
No. 1 Los Lunas 51, No. 2 Roswell 27
The No.1 Los Lunas Lady Tigers took on the No.2 Roswell Lady Coyotes in what was a heavily anticipated matchup between to strong programs but it was the Los Lunas Lady Tigers who would show just how strong they can be by coming out of of the gates scorching hot and leading at the end of the 1st quarter 15-2. The Lady Tigers would get the lead and never look back as they were lead on the night offensively by Tinaya Murphy who had a game high 18 points as well as 6 rebounds. Game Highlights Here
No. 3 Navajo Pine 64, No. 1 Laguna Acoma 57
The No.1 Laguna Acoma Lady Hawks took on the No. 3 Navajo Pine Lady Warriors in a matchup that featured one of the most electrifying state championships in girls 2A in a while with a large and animated fan base that rocked the pit. The Lady Warriors would take home the blue trophy thanks to a great offensive performance by Demetria Clichee who had a game high 23 points while also snagging 10 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists. No. 1 Elida 63, No. 2 Corona 27
In a repeat of last years class-b championship Elida and Corona meet up in the title game once again, and like list year Elida would control the tempo of the game from the very get go. The Tigers would be led offensively by Marily Varela who had a game high 19 points, she also had 4 assists. Also contributing to the Tigers cause was Hunter Haley who had 13 points and 3 assist and Reda Allison who had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Game Highlights Here
No. 6 Lovington 58, No. 1 Hope Christian 51
The No. 6 Lovington Wildcats took on the No. 1 seeded Hope Christian Huskies and it would be a back and forth affair for the majority of the game up until the Lady Cats tool control of the game in the 2nd and 4th quarter and the Lady Cats were able to stave off the Huskies comeback. In doing so the Lady Wildcats were able to become back to back state champions. Game Highlights Here
No. 1 Hondo 69, No. 3 Wagon Mound 34
The Hondo Eagles took on the Wagon Mound Trojans in the Men's Class B State Championship game, and it was the Eagles who took control early and never looked back as they would have a commanding 23-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Eagles were lead offensively by Roberto Nores who had a game high 16 points and 8 rebounds. Game Highlights Here

No. 1 Hope Christian 67, No. 4 Shiprock 49
The Hope Christian Huskies took on the Shiprock Chieftains and it was the Hope Christian Huskies that would gain the lead hand never look back as they will go on the the 3A State Championship game were they will get a chance at redemption from last years state title game against the St. Michael's Horsemen. No. 2 St. Michael's 56, No. 3 Sandia Prep 41
The No.2 St. Michael's Horsemen faced off against the No. 3 Sandia Prep Sundevils. The Horsemen are like the Las Cruces Bulldawgs vying for a shot a becoming state champs in both football and basketball as they advance to the 3A State Title game. The Horesmen were lead on by Jeff Groenewold who had 14 points and 4 rebounds, also contributing for St. Mikes was Jordan Romero who had 14 points Game Highlights Here
No. 6 La Cruces Bulldawgs 74, No. 7 Hobbs Eagles 68
The Las Cruces Bulldawgs did it in football and now will have a chance for a basketball state championship after beating the Hobbs Eagles in Albuquerque at The Pit Thursday Night 74-68. On the night, the Bulldawgs were led by 26 points form Kai Williams and Trevor Noel who scored 13 points. Game Highlights Here
No. 4 Clovis Wildcats 69, No. 1 Eldorado Eagles 61 (OT)
The No. 4 Clovis Wildcats did the unthinkable and upset the defending champs and number one team in New Mexico the Eldorado Eagles, 69-66 in overtime. The Wildcats were led by DJ Blackmon who had 14 points and 6 rebounds in the game. Drew Cole also had an impressive showing with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Game Highlights Here
No. 5 Albuquerque Academy Chargers 48, No. 1 Roswell Coyotes 45
The No. 5 Albuquerque Academy Chargers continue their magical season with the big time upset win over the No. 1 Roswell Coyotes, 48-45. The Chargers were led by Chris Martin who had 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Coyotes were led by Johnnail Leonard who had 14 points. The Chargers will face St. Pius X in the title game. No. 2 St. Pius X 66, No. 3 Los Lunas 60
The No. 2 St. Pius Sartans took on the No. 3 Los Lunas Tigers in the Mens Final Four as the state tourney progresses to the final chapters. However the books are still being written and the Sartans will have a final four victory to add to their resume after an impressive performance by Nic Stafford 17 points and 12 rebounds. Also Contributing to the Sartan cause was Micah Sanchez who had a 12 points and 5 assists. Game Highlights Here
No. 2 Roswell Coyotes 57, No. 3 Santa Fe Demons 47 (2-OT)
The No. 2 Roswell Coyotes had to claw back to beat the upset minded No. 3 Santa Fe High Demons in double overtime. The Coyotes will play for their third state championship in five years. The Coyotes were led by Gail Sanchez who had 10 points, and 8 rebounds. Georgia Eldridge chipped in 9 points and 12 rebounds for the Coyotes. Game Highlights Here
No. 1 Los Lunas 50, No. 4 St. Pius 34
The No. 1 team in 4A women's basketball in the Los Lunas Lady Tigers managed to knock off the St. Pius Lady Sartans on Thursday at the PIT in what was a physical affair that favored the taller and tougher Lady Tigers. Leading the way for the Tigers was no other then premier post player Teige Zeller who had 17 points and 26 rebounds. Also chipping in was Tinaya Murphy who had 11 points and 7 rebounds. No. 1 Hope Christian Huskies 65, No. 4 Shiprock Chieftains 55
The number one team in 3A basketball, the Hope Christian Huskies move onto the State Championship after a 65-55 win in the Final Four over the Shiprock Lady Chieftains. The Huskies were led by Marissa Perry (18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assist) along with 17 points, 9 rebounds from Robyn Walker. The Chieftains were led by Ashley John who finished with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Game Highlights Here

No. 6 Lovington 38, No. 2 Santa Fe Indian School 33
The defending 3A champion No. 6 Lovington Wildcats will return to the State Championship after beating the No. 2 Santa Fe Indian Lady Braves, 38-33. The Wildcats were led by Cori Haley who finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Santa Fe Indian got 9 points from Bridgett Lee. Game Highlights Here

No. 1 Eldorado Eagles 73, No. 8 Cibola Cougars 64
The No. 1 team in New Mexico ran away with this Elite Eight game early, 73-64. The Eagles were led by Cullen Neal with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Zach Gentry pitched in 19 points, 12 rebounds. Preston Bungei the senior guard for Cibola had 21-points and 8 rebounds along with 3 assists. Game Highlights
No. 3 Los Lunas 60, No. 6 Capital 23
The No. 3 Los Lunas Tigers faced off against the No. 6 Capital Jaguars in what would turn out to be one of the more lopsided match ups in recent Elite 8 memory. The Jaguars looked to Senior Mikey Lopez for the majority of their points this season. Game Highlights Here
No. 6 Las Cruces Bulldawgs 64, No. 3 La Cueva 58
The No. 6 Las Cruces Bulldawgs upset the No. 3 La Cueva Bears in the Elite Eight of the State Tournament, 64-58. The Bulldawgs were led by twin towers Trevor Noel (17 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists) and Kai Williams (15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists). The Bulldawgs move onto the Final Four against the No. 7 Hobbs Eagles. Game Highlights Here
No. 5 Albuquerque Academy Chargers 77, No. 4 Bernalillo Spartans 71
The No. 5 Albuquerque Academy Chargers upset the No. 4 Bernalillo Spartans, 77-71 moving to the Final Four against the No. 1 Roswell Coyotes. The Chargers were led by junior big man Chris Martin who finished with 27 points and 18 rebounds. Tommy Lindgren also chipped in 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists for the Chargers. No. 4 Clovis Wildcats 60, No. 12 Manzano Monarchs 57 (OT)
In a wild game and first overtime game of the Elite Eight the No. 4 Clovis Wildcats move onto another Final Four. The Wildcats knock out cinderella (12) Manzano Monarchs. The Wildcats were led by Willie McCray who poured in 16 points and 3 rebounds. DJ Blackmon also put in 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 rebounds. Game Highlights Here
No. 1 Roswell Coyotes 66, No. 9 Espanola Valley Sundevils 49
The number one team in 4A basketball moved to the Final Four after a, 66-49 win over the 9-seed Espanola Valley. The Roswell Coyotes were led by Anthony Olguin who had 21-points, 7 rebounds and 4 assist. Cesar Nava had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. The Espanola Valley Sundevils were led by sophomore Jared Garduno who finished with 15 points. Game Highlights
No. 7 Hobbs Eagles 66, No. 2 Sandia Matadors 65
The 2-seed Sandia Matadors fall in the Elite Eight to the 7-seed Hobbs Eagles, 66-65. The Eagles were led by Dane Pannell who had 22 points, 5 assist and 5 rebounds. Also, the star of the game was shooting guard Adrian Sanchez who hit the game winning three with one second left in the game. Sanchez finished with 12 points (all threes). Game Highlights

In the final Elite Eight game of the day the No. 2 Roswell Coyotes beat the No. 7 Gallup Bengals, 43-35. The Coyotes were led by Georgia Eldridge who finished the night with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Myla Brown chipped in 7 points and 6 rebounds for the Coyotes. Game Highlights
#2 Santa Fe Indian Braves 51, #7 Pojoaque Valley Elks 41
In a closer than expected contest the Braves of Santa Fe Indian took out the upset minded Pojoaque Valley, 51-41. The LAdy Braves were led by post player Danielle Nelson who finished the night with a big double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds along with 6 assist. Bridgett Lee, who also plays in the paint finished the night with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assist. Game Highlights
#3 Santa Fe Demons 45, #6 Valencia Jaguars 38
The No. 3 Santa Fe Demons continue their magical season as they beat No. 6 Valencia Jaguars, 45-38. The Demons were led by our Co-MVP's for the game - Sabrina Lozado-Cabbage (14 points, 9 rebounds), Kayla Herrera (16 points, 6 rebounds). Game Highlights Here

The number 6 Lovington Wildcats move onto the Final Four after a big Elite Eight win over the 3-seed Portales Rams, 33-26. The Tigers were led by junior Teige Zeller who finished the day with 26 points and 17 rebounds. Sweet shooting guard Tinaya Murphy also poured in 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Tigers. #4 Shiprock Chieftains 52, #5 Taos Tigers 34
The Lady Chieftains powered their way to a 18-point win over the 5-seed Taos Tigers, 52-34. The Lady Chieftains were led by the former Kirtland Central (2011-2012) guard Taylor Henderson who finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Post player Courtney Steele had a big game in the paint with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Game Highlights Here
#4 St. Pius X Sartans 71, #5 Espanola Valley Sundevils 58
The first 4A Elite Eight game of the day had the #4 St. Pius X Sartans coming out with a 13-point win. The Sartans used a huge 29-point fourth quarter to secure the win after being neck and neck throughout the game. Exploding for 28 points was Natalie Zamora for the St. Pius X Sartans. #1 Hope Christian Huskies 66, #9 Socorro Warriors 29
In the first game of the morning the No. 1 Hope Huskies beat the 9-seed Socorro Warriors, 66-29. It was the first of four 3A Elite Eight games of the day. The story for the Huskies was the inside feature of Leala Longmire who was unstoppable in the paint on her way to 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Game Highlights Here
