Atrisco 23, Rio Grande 0
The Atrisco Heritage Jaguars moved to 4-3 on the year with a 23-0 win over the Rio Grande Ravens. Atrisco is now 1-3 against 5A teams as they move closer to the end of the season in hopes to make the play-offs.

Carlsbad 16, La Cueva 0
Carlsbad shutout La Cueva Friday Night to move to 5-3 on the season. It was the third consecutive game in a row that La Cueva has not scored a touchdown. Elijah McCoy ran for 140-yards and a touchdown for Carlsbad.

Capital 49, Espanola Valley 0
The Capital Jaguars are back in the district hunt after a 49-0 win over Espanola Valley to move to 1-6 overall and 1-0 in district play. The Jaguars were led by Kevin Brown in his first game back since Socorro. He scored two rushing touchdowns and ran for over 100-yards on the night. Espanola Valley moved to 1-7 and 0-2 in district.

Centennial 21, Ruidoso 20
The Centennial Hawks trailed Ruidoso 20-7 at the halftime mark, but were able to pull out a victory 21-20 to move to 5-2 on the season. It was the second time the two teams had met since week one of the season when Centennial won 35-12. Centennial was able to get past the Warriors again thanks to two 4th quarter touchdowns from Brandon Gomez. For Ruidoso now 5-2, they were led by Parker Johnson who scored 2 touchdowns.

Cleveland 52, Hobbs 12
The Cleveland Storm are now 6-1 on the season after drubbing Hobbs Friday Night in Rio Rancho. The Rams were led by by Kian Homme who passed for 243-yards and 2 touchdowns on the night and Tight End Sterling Napier who caught for 100-yards. Hobbs now 6-2 was led by David Romero who passed for 144-yards, but who also threw 4 interceptions. Cleveland will take on Cibola next week, while Hobbs will take on Clovis.

Clovis 42, Sandia 24
The Clovis Wildcats moved to 4-4 on the season with a seeding shake up win over Sandia Friday Night. Kamal Cass scored 3 rushing touchdowns, Dakotah Yandell threw for two long passing touchdowns to Traivon Sopilla, and Peton Lott returned an interception for a touchdown. Clovis has now won three games in a row and will take on Hobbs next weekend. Sandia now 5-2 will take on open district as well against Manzano.

Cobre 41, Lordsburg 27
The Cobre Indians won a very important district game against Lordsburg Friday Night to move to 7-1 on the season and 2-0 in district play. Lordsburg is now 5-2 on the year.

Deming 41, Cathedral (TX) 0
The Dmeing Wildcats moved to 6-1 on the season defeating El Paso Cathedral with ease in a 41-0 shutout victory. The Wildcats will began district play next weekend against Chaparral.

Dexter 40, Tornillo (TX) 2
The Dexter Demons moved to 5-2 on the season as they rolled past Tornillio, Texas Friday Night by 38 points.

Ft. Sumner 28, Melrose 7
The Ft. Sumner Foxes moved to 4-3 on the season after a 21 point win over Melrose. Ft. Sumner was led by Michael Giannini who ran for 2 scores and had over 151-yards rushing on the night.

Escalante 70, Shiprock 6
It was a 64 point victory for the Lobos over Shiprock Friday Night as Escalante moved to 6-2 on the season.

Gadsden 27, Onate 20
For a second straight season, the Gadsden Panthers have managed to defeat the Onate Knights in district play. Gadsden was led by Steven Herrera who broke a game chaining 89-yard touchdown and also who threw a touchdown. Onate is now 2-6 this season, Gadsden moves to 3-4.

Goddard 55, Lovington 0
The Goddard Rockets moved to 5-2 on the season as the pummeled Lovington Friday Night at the Wool Bowl. Cody French who score 4 touchdowns on the night to bring his touchdown season count over 20. Dean McDaniel also scored and the Rockets sacked Lovington Quarterback Zach Molinar 6 times on the night. Goddard is open next week before taking on Artesia, Lovington is now 1-6 this year and will host Hope Christian in week 9.

Las Cruces 50, Alamogordo 0
Now 8-0 on the season, the Bulldawgs ran through Alamogordo Friday Night in a District 3-5A match up. The Bulldawgs were led by Kameron Miller who threw three touchdowns as the Dawgs racked up over 300-yards in just two quarters of play. Running Back JJ Granados ran for 150-yards and three scores. Las Cruces will travel to Gadsden next week.

Kirtland Central 25, Bloomfield 14
The Kirtland Central Broncos moved to 6-1 on the season, yes 6-1 after an 11-point win over Bloomfield Friday Night. The Broncos were led by Sophomore Running Back Keishaun Aspass who ran for 143-yards and 2 touchdowns. Kirtland will take on Piedra Vista next weekend in a huge district 1-4A game, while Bloomfield will open district 1-3A play against Throeau.

Piedra Vista 50, St. Pius X 6
The Piedra Vista Panthers moved to 5-2 on the season with a 50-6 win over St. Pius X Friday Night in a game that was played at University Stadium. Beau Clafton ran for 175-yards on the night scoring 4 touchdowns. Zach Ahlgrim ran for 50-yards and caught for 25-yards on the night. Piedra Vista will take on Kirtland Central in week 9.

Roswell 38, Portales 13
The Roswell Coyotes moved to 6-2 on the season thanks to 192-yards rushing and 3 scores from running back J.J. Fiero. For the Rams, they were led by Bronte Staugaard who ran for 89-yards on the night. Roswell will take on Portales next week, Portales will open district against Ruidoso.

Santa Fe 28, Los Alamos 9
The Santa Fe Demons took a major step closer to winning District 2-4A and making it back to back years to the play-offs with a monster win over Los Alamos Friday Night.The Demons now 3-4 overall and 2-0 in District play were led by Rayes Montano who ran for 95-yards on the night.

Santa Rosa 27, Estancia 0
The Santa Rosa Lions won their 26th game in a row Friday Night moving to 8-0 on the year and 2-0 in District 2-2A play. The Yellowjackets will take on 7-0 Clayton next weekend in Santa Rosa.

Silver 42, Santa Teresa 7
The Silver Colts moved to 5-2 on the year defeating Santa Teresa Friday Night. Running Back Franky Castillo ran for 100-yards off 10 carries and scored a touchdown.

Texico 21, Tucumcari 20
Justin Ruster scored 3 touchdowns for Texico Friday Night as the Wolverines escaped with district win over Tucumcari. Saul Moreil ran for 136-yards and had a two touchdown runs for the Rattlers.

Thursday Night Recap

Valley 56, Albuquerque 6
The Valley Vikings moved to 7-0 on the season, the Albuquerque Bulldogs dropped their 36th game in a row. Two teams on two different spectrums met Thursday Night in Albuquerque. Several different Valley Vikings scored on the night. In recruiting news, Valley Receiver Aaron Molina committed to the New Mexico Lobos on Thursday.

Belen 55, Gallup 0
The Belen Eagles moved to 5-1 on the year with a no-contest win over Gallup Thursday Night. The Eagles led 21-0 with just 4 minutes into the 1st quarter, then ended the first quarter leading 35-0. With just two minutes into the 2nd half, the game was called at 55-0.

Volcano Vista 21, Eldorado 14
The Volcano Vista Hawks took another step closer to reaching the play-offs Thursday by winning their 5th game in a row with a 7-point win over Eldorado. Sophomore Quarterback Josh Williams threw 3 touchdown passes to 6-foot-5 receiver Connor Anderson on the night and Running Back Dominico Chavez rushed for over 100-yards on the night. Eldorado Eagle Quarterback Zach Gentry threw for just over 100-yards as the Eagles fell to 3-4 on the season.

Cibola 10, Manzano 6
The Cibola Cougars the NMPreps.com No. 3 team in Class 5A trailed led Manzano 3-0 at the half. The Monarchs took a 6-3 lead when Quarterback Angel Gonzales hit Receiver Josh Alvarez for a touchdown pass to make it 6-3 in the 3rd quarter after a missed PAT. Cibola Quarterback Derek Martinez broke a long run early in the 4th quarter which was the game breaker. The Cougars are now 5-2 on the season and Manzano drops to 4-3 before entering district play.

Hope 38, Academy 37
The Hope Christian Huskies continue to shake up the Class 3A rankings. Last week they beat Portales 43-32 and Thursday Night they up-ended district rival Academy by 1 in a a shootout. The Huskies were led by Caleb Meyer-Hagen who threw for 4 touchdowns and 231-yards. Academy was led by 230 rushing from Phillip Romero. Academy went for a game tying field goal training 38-35 late in the game, only to have it blocked. With time running out, Hope opted to take a safety to make it a final of 38-37. Hope is now 4-4 on the year and Academy drops to 6-2 and 0-1 in District 5-3A play.
