Top-25 Rundown For Tuesday

No. 1 Sandia (1-0) vs. No. 19 Albuquerque Academy (0-1): The Matadors weapons are barely getting fired up and could have too many for the Chargers of Albuquerque Academy Chargers. Adam Cumber (Sandia) dropped 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists on Albuquerque High last week. Albuquerque Academy has 6'5 Chris Martin but he will be overwhelmed by the plethora of bigs Sandia has.
Pick: Sandia +12

No. 2 Manzano (1-0) vs. Capital (0-0): The Monarchs will take on Capital a team in the past that would have garnered some votes for an upset. Well, the No. 2 team in the land has a killer duo in TJ Holyfield and Warren Smith that will bring the highlight reel alive in this one. Capital has a new head (former) coach Ben Gomez but lack the roster depth.
Pick: Monarchs +16

**BIG GAME** No. 3 Valley (1-0) vs. No. 12 Volcano Vista (1-0): This one could be the upset pick if you were looking to pick one. The Hawks are underdogs but have some nice pieces in the mix. Valley has a duo in Joe Anaya and Adonis Saltes who combined for 49 points last week. Volcano has some key pieces and could steal one with some Valley players barely getting off the football field.
Pick: Valley +2

No. 4 Hobbs (4-0) vs. Midland, TX (0-2): The Eagles of Hobbs are starting off hot and have several key players that could easily lead the team in scoring on any given night. The one you want to see is Devante Brown, the underrated guard that's taking over this team down south.
Pick: Hobbs +1

No. 5 Atrisco Heritage Academy (1-0) vs Belen (0-0): The Jaguars looked impressive last week with a huge stomping over Sandia Prep. Corbin Waquie, Joe Brooks and newcomer Deven Peace create a killer trio. Belen has one of the better shooters in the state in Colton Lewis but not much else to get an upset win in this one.
Pick: AHA +14

One Line: #6-#15

No. 6 Carlsbad (0-0) vs. Goddard (1-0): Shakur Smith and the ever improving Caveman program continue the momentum from a season ago. Pick: Carlsbad +9

No. 7 Cibola (1-0) vs. Albuquerque High (0-1): Close to taking the Bulldogs of Albuquerque High but Kevin Saiz dropping 24 points and 12 assists last week has this one to the Cougars at home. Pick: Cibola +2

No. 8 Clovis (1-0) Do not play Tuesday.

No. 9 Hope Christian (0-0) vs. La Cueva: The Huskies look to defend the early season ranking on their opening night against, for the first time in 4 years, an unranked La Cueva Bears squad. Pick: Huskies +5

No. 10 Los Lunas Tigers (0-0): Do not play Tuesday.

No. 11 Rio Rancho (0-2) vs. No. 24 Espanola Valley (1-0): The Rio Rancho Rams have a top guard in Brady Patterson that should be too much for the Sundevils. Pick: Rio Rancho +6

No. 13 Las Cruces (1-3) vs. Chapin, TX (7-3): The Bulldawgs need a spark and this could be the game or the (7-2) Huskies runaway with it. Pick: Chapin +7

No. 14 Roswell (1-0): Do not play Tuesday.

No. 15 Alamogordo (1-0) vs. Chaparral (0-3): This one will be over early and the Tigers should unload it's bench. Pick: Alamogordo +19

Small School Division: Keep On Eye on 3

Note: Top-25 SSD Rankings

No. 1 Dexter (0-0) vs. No. 10 Tularosa (0-0: Both open the season tonight and the Demons will look to recover some football players making their return to the hardwood after finishing it's football season Saturday night. David Lopez (Dexter) is one of the best guards at this level.

**Big School vs. Small School Game** No. 5 Santa Fe Prep (3-0) vs. West Las Vegas (2-0): This one could be one of the most exciting games of the evening. Santa Fe Prep could be a favorite to win it all in 2A with it's depth and the Done are underrated in 3A right now. Both dangerous teams with plenty of fire power.

No. 9 Cliff (2-0) vs. Cobre (0-0): The 1A vs 2A battle goes to the scary Cliff Cowboys who are averaging 103 points per contest. Big man Tate Shelley is next level material and will put his 29 points per game up against a Cobre team that hasn't had much fuel in recent history.
