Meet The 2013 New Mexico High School Football State Champions

Class 5A: Las Cruces Bulldawgs
The Las Cruces Bulldawgs won their 6th State Championship under head football coach Jim Miller on Saturday in a thriller. After the Trojans led 14-0 in the first, the Dawgs made it a 20-20 half-time score when Allen Garcia hit a 36-yard field goal just before half. J.J. Granados would score his 42nd touchdown of the season to put the Dawgs up 27-20 in the 3rd quarter until Mayfield's David Stookey scored with just over a minute to play to make it 27-26. The PAT was blocked by Las Cruces defensive back Jalen Bishop. The Bulldawgs finish the year 12-1 and have now won 6 state titles since the 1998 season. Complete Season Breakdown Here
Class 4A: Farmington Scorpions
The Farmington Scorpions won their first state title since 1952 with a 7-0 victory over the Goddard Rockets. It was a defense battle to say the least and Farmington limited Goddard Running Back Cody French to less than 50-yards in the first two quarters of play. It was 0-0 at the half and the lone score came when Farmington Quarterback Jacob Lucas hit Kyle Reynolds for a touchdown to make it 7-0 early in the 3rd Quarter. The Rockets did the move on the day, but turnovers prohibited scores, in-fact Goddard threw 4 interceptions on the day. Class 3A: Robertson Cardinals
The Cardinals battled the Siver City Colts in freezing temperatures at the Cardinals Stadium in Las Vegas, NM to win the 3A State Title 34-7. Senior James Gonzales, III powerplayer for Robertson told NMPreps, "I am super exctied and super shocked. We worked so hard to get here, we were the underdog since the first round of the play-offs. Now we are the state champs and it is such a great feeling, a dream come true for me and my teammates. Complete Season Breakdown Here
Class 2A: Clayton Yellowjackets
The Clayton Yellowjackets won their first ever State Championship on Saturday defeating the Hatch Valley Bears 28-6. Dakota Montoya, #63 for the Jackets told NMPreps, "This win feels so good and we finally won the state championship. This has been a very long season with a lot of hard work and our hard work has finally paid off. It was difficult playing in the snow and it was very cold, but it was totally worth it. We have finally made history and ended the Clayton's state title losing streak." He also said this about the Bears, "Hatch was a very good team, gave us a good game, hats off to them."Complete Season Breakdown Here
Class 1A: Hagerman Bobcats

The Hagerman Bobcats completed the perfect season on Saturday defeating the Capitan Tigers to win the Class 1A State Title Game. The Bobcats finished 12-0 on the season outscoring the season competition 434-60. Quarterback Alejandro Ramos finished the year with more than 1,600-yards passing and 24 touchdowns and will return next year for his senior season. Comment Here

Class 8-Man: Gateway Christian Warriors
The Gateway Warriors won their third state title in a row on Saturday defeating Foothill in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gateway was led by Andrew Meeks and Receiver Jacob Moody on the day. On the season Andrew Meeks threw for 1,459-yards with 23 touchdowns and also ran for 1,263-yards and 22 touchdowns. Comment Here
Class 6-Man: Lake Arthur Panthers
For the third year in a row, the Lake Arthur Panthers are your 6-Man State Champion. On Saturday, the Panthers defeated Hondo for the 2nd year in a row in the finals by a score of 66-50. On the night, Miguel Rubio ran for 264-yards and scored 8 total touchdowns. Comment Here
