About The Tour: During the months of June, July, and August NMPreps.com's Publisher Kyle Henderson will travel the state to preview over 40 high school football programs on their home campus. Hendo's Summer Tour Home Here

Over the next few weeks we'll be releasing our summer New Mexico High School Football Rankings. The Rankings are based off incoming seniors, rising juniors and sophomores, and losses to graduation.

NMPreps.com's Top 50 Countdown
25 4A
Robertson Cardinals
Head Coach: Leroy Gonzales
One of the greater story lines of the 2013 season was Robertson's late season run to the state title game winning their last 5 games in a row and defeating favorite after favorite in the playoffs. This year the Cardinals return some excellent talent including Dominic Lucero who hit the 1,400-yard mark at running back last season. Keep tabs on rising junior Francisco Arguello.
26 5A
Piedra Vista Panthers
Head Coach: Jarrod Howell
The Panthers finished 7-4 in 2013 after starting out the year 7-2. They lose two three year starters in Isaiah Valdez at quarterback and Beau Clafton at running back, two big blows for the offense. This year, watch for Zach Alghrim at linebacker and for juniors Jose and Scott Ramirez to see time at running back. The next quarterback in line looks to be Alex Shay.
27 5A
Roswell Coyotes
Head Coach: Jeff Lynn
The Coyotes are entering year two under head coach Jeff Lynn. Last year Roswell went back to the playoffs with a 6-5 record, but still had a tough time in district against both Artesia and Goddard losing by a combined score of 76-7. The Coyotes return JJ Fierro in the backfield and watch for rising junior Dominic Anaya who is a sleeper from the Class of 2016.
28 4A
St. Michael's Horsemen
Head Coach: Joey Fernandez
The Horsemen are 36-3 since the 2011 season. It's remarkable that this program continues to churn out the talent year after year despite losing big names to graduation continually. Rising up this year for the Horsemen are guys like Julie Cesar Garcia, Nathan Leyba, and rising sophomore Xavier Vigil who should be a hard nose linebacker.
29 4A
Silver Colts
Head Coach: Butch Branson
The Colts have reached the Class 3A state title game twice over the last two years and been beat in both games (two years ago against St. Mike's, last year to Robertson). Branson has kept Silver among the top programs in 3A and despite losing some strong seniors, this year's Colt team returns some big time players like Frankie Castillo and Zach Jasso. Thinking Silver will again make their annual run.
30 3A
Clayton Yellow Jackets
Head Coach: Collin Justiss
The Yellow Jackets won their first ever state championship under Collin Justiss. Justiss has taken two different teams to the finals in the last two years. Last year's Clayton squad was incredible scoring 499 points and allowing just 90. This year the Yellow Jackets return Colby Bagwell at quarterback, Brian Montoya at running back, and Koy Geary who will also be in the backfield as one of the fastest backs in 3A. Also watch for linemen like Mark Craine and Seth Martinez.
31 5A
Del Norte Knights
Head Coach: Bruce Binkley
This will be year three under head coach Bruce Binkley at Del Norte High School. Last year the Knights just missed out on the playoffs but showed major signs of improvements. The headliner for their team will be Tyrelle Jackson who of the top top dual threat quarterbacks in New Mexico, a legit 4.4/4.5 40-time guy.
32 4A
Ruidoso Warriors
Head Coach: Kief Johnson
This is the year that Ruidoso has been waiting for. Last year they went 8-3 before losing to Silver 41-28 in the playoffs. This year their roster is filled with guys ready to go all out. Watch for top Class of 2015 Prospect Parker Johnson who is as dynamic of a player there is in New Mexico. Cade Patterson will return at quarterback.
33 3A
Santa Rosa Lions
Head Coach: Mario Trujillo
The Lions are 35-3 over the last three years under Head Coach Mario Trujillo and have won two state championships. This yearly juggernaut took one on the chin last year against rival Clayton in the playoffs losing 16-8. They return Isaac Velasquez who should be their next big time running back.
34 2A
Hagerman Bobcats
Head Coach: Casey Crandall
The Hagerman Bobcats went a perfect 12-0 under Head Coach Casey Crandall last year and again return a loaded group into the 2014 season. Alejandro Ramos returns at quarterback who threw for 2,096-yards and 29 touchdowns last year. Not expecting this group to take a step back from last year.
35 3A
Hatch Valley Bears
Head Coach: Jack Cisco
The Hatch Valley Bears went 10-3 during the 2013 season losing to the Clayton Yellow Jackets 28-6 in the 2A finals. They lose Chase Carson at quarterback and also graduate Miguel Gonzalez in the trenches. Returning is Adrian Grajeda won of the top player makers for the Bears last year as a sophomore.
36 4A
Taos Tigers
Head Coach: Flavio Lopez
The Tigers had an amazing run last year going 10-2 on the year under Flavio Lopez. Though they came up short in the semifinals losing to Robertson 21-16, they don't graduate too many impact players. Kevin McCarty returns at quarterback who threw for 1,300-yards and watch for Marshal Cummings who recorded 96 tackles as junior.
