Meet The 1st Year Head Coaches

There will be more than 10 new Head Football Coaches entering the 2014 season. Today we introduce the 1st year Head Coaches and give you the skinny on their background.
Takes over for legend Sam Jernigan and is a longtime Goddard Rocket assistant coach since the late 80's. Knows the defense, they return 8 into the 2014 season.
Joe Anaya
New Coach at Moriarty High School
Former Albuquerque Head Coach in the mid 2000's and more recently was an assistant coach at Moriarty. Replaces long time Head Moriarty Coach Bob Allcorn.
Stacy Johnson
New Coach at Highland High School
Finally got his shot at being at Head Coach after a long stint as an assistant coach at Highland High School. He knows the kids and the communtiy very well.
Brent Jaques
New Coach at Onate High School
Was the defensive coordinator at Las Cruces a few years ago, then took a year off and now received his first head coaching gig at Onate.
Queving Redding
New Coach at Socorro High School
Was an assistant over the last few years at Centennial High School. Also coached at Chaparral and at Pojoaque in the mid 2000's. Son Queving will play at NMMI this year.
Bob Allcorn
New Coach at Bloomfield High School
Allcorn left Moriarty to move home closer to family. Allcorn was a longtime coach at Moriarty and built the program into what it is today. Very successful coach throughout the years.
Trent Spencer
New Coach at Bernalillo High School
Takes over Bernalillo following long time head coach Ken Noel. Spencer coached at Laguna Acoma and also at Vaughn.
Patrick Quillen
New Coach at Rio Grande High School
Last year he led Foothill to the 8-man state title game and was selected as the Small School Coach of the Year. Takes over Rio Grande following Jim Danner.
Curtis Flakes
New Coach at Albuquerque High School
Was an assistant at Manzano over the last few years and will get his first crack as a Head Coach at Albuquerque High who is riding the state's longest losing streak.
Tory Giacomo
New Coach at Raton High School
Giacomo takes over for long time Head Coach at Raton Brock Walton.
