Jamie Quinones Steps Down As Lovington Head Football Coach

Breaking: NMPreps.com has learned that long time Assistant and Head Coach Jamie Quinones of Lovington High School has stepped down as Head Coach Football Coach. Our sources indicate that Quinones called the Wildcats to the field house on Monday, December 21st, 2015 and informed the entire team and coaching staff.

Quinones took over for John "Speedy" Faith in 2006 and leaves with a career coaching win/loss record of 53-54. The Wildcats have struggled over the last three seasons missing the 2013, 2014, and 2015 playoffs. This past season the Wildcats went 1-9 on the year and 0-3 in district play.

Three Peat From 2009 To 2011

As Wildcat Head Coach Quinones led the Wildcats to three state football championships winning the Class 3A State Title in 2009, 2010, and in 2011. In total Lovington Football has won 18 State Championships, the 2nd most of any team in New Mexico, Artesia has the most football championships with 29.
