Today, we release the week five NMPreps.com Fab 50 High School Football Rankings. Each week we release our rankings and track the teams throughout the season.

The top six spots stay the same entering week 8 of the New Mexico High School football season. Rio Rancho (7-0) stays at the top of the state of New Mexico in football with an impressive 42-28 win in week 7 over Cleveland (6-1).
Cleveland (2), Las Cruces (3), Volcano Vista (4) and Artesia (5) stay in line this week. Onate stays put at 6 with their win over Carlsbad, 50-0. Cleveland did lose but stay at number two. Las Cruces beat Hobbs 48-28 and Artesia at five with a win over Alamogordo, 48-35. Volcano Vista was off last week. The Jump: Centennial to 7 from 9 with a win over Gadsden (50-0). Cibola jumps from 22 to 19 on their three game win streak (3-4).
Fall, Drop, Newbie
The Fall: Eldorado went from 7 to 11 with a loss to Clovis. Piedra Vista drops again this week from 16 to 24.
The Drop: Socorro with a loss to Hot Springs, their first this season, falls out of the Fab 50.
The Newbie: Capitan is sort of flying under the radar in 3A football and have improved to 6-1 with their win over Tularosa, 60-7.
