ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- We already knew Jordan Byrd of Manzano was blazing fast. Last month, he cemented his status as the fastest athlete in New Mexico by winning the Class 6A state 100-meter title in near record time (10.58 seconds).
Byrd’s tremendous speed is a major reason Power 5 schools such as Arizona, Utah and Texas Tech have offered him a football scholarship, as well as New Mexico and San Diego State of the Mountain West.
Tuesday night at Highland High School, we learned Byrd throws the football with a lot of zip as well.
