The highly competitive Class 5A playoffs get underway Friday night with No. 5 seed Los Lunas hosting District 2-5A champion Capital and No. 7 seed Miyamura facing Deming in Gallup. Saturday, defending 5A champion St. Pius X squares off with Lovington in Albuquerque while Aztec hosts Goddard. Here is our look at each game.

Capital (12) at Los Lunas (5): If you think about it, Los Lunas is this close to being a No. 1 or No. 2 seed for the Class 5A playoffs. If anything, those losses proved Los Lunas is capable of making a deep run through the playoffs, if not all the way to the championship game.
