D1 Prospects Starting To Emerge from the Class of 2018

Jordan Byrd aka the fastest man in New Mexico recently won the 6A 100M Dash with a time of 10.5. He holds D1 offers from New Mexico, San Diego State, Utah, and Texas Tech. Byrd is used at Manzano as a quarterback, receiver, kick returner, and punt returner.

Rio Rancho High School continues to produce D1 talent yearly and Keyshawn Banks looks to be the next big time defensive player coming out of the City of Vision. Banks at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds was an All-State Defensive End during the 2016 season. He holds offers from New Mexico and New Mexico State.

Evan Tafoya-Vallo is a 6-foot-3, 270-pound offensive tackle out of Rio Rancho High School that is really picking up steam on the recruiting front. He recently just landed an offer from Air Force.

Monroe Young is the son of Fred Young, the New Mexico State Hall of Fame Aggie who played with the Seattle Seahawks. Young has speed to burn and is likely the fastest player in the City of Las Cruces. Young has been offered by New Mexico State, Air Force, and Utep.
