2017 NEW MEXICO MR. FOOTBALL - GAVIN HARDISON

NMPreps.com and Rivals are proud to announce the winner of the 2017 Tate Branch New Mexico Mr. Footabll award to Gavin Hardison of Hobbs High School. The Mr. Football award is given to the most valuable player in the state of New Mexico.

Hardison joins a group of select players that will be remembered throughout New Mexico high school football history.

In 2017 Gavin Hardison passed for 5,347-yards with 59-touchdowns leading the Hobbs Eagles to a 9-3 record. The Eagles played in the 6A state quarterfinals. He would have four games with over 500-yards passing. Hardison has committed to play football for the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico.

Head Coach Charles Gleghorn on Hardison

Very deserving for Gavin! Our team would have taken a whole different shape without him at the Q. He opens the entire playbook in terms of what he can do with the ball. It was a true blessing getting to be his coach these last few years because he's just the best kid on and off the field. Breaking the single-season passing record and surpassing 5,000 yards was an incredible feat and he'll be the first to tell you what an amazing team record that is. That's just the kind of person he was raised to be. I'm super excited for him and had the best seat in the house every Friday night to watch him play. He exemplifies what NM Preps is all about.
