(Second of a two-part series previewing the 2017 Alamogordo football team)

When new Alamogordo head coach AJ Cisco was looking for a defensive coordinator for the Tigers, he turned to a familiar face.

His father.

Jack Cisco is well known in New Mexico high football circles, having served as head coach at Capitan (1977-78), Roswell (1993-2001) and Hatch Valley (2008-2016; won 2015 Class 4A state title) during his lengthy coaching career that began in the early 1970’s.

In 2013, he was inducted into the NM High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Jack Cisco exited Hatch Valley following the 2016 season, leading the Bears to an impressive 23-3 record in his final two years there, yet his retirement lasted only a few months as his son convinced him to join the Alamogordo staff.

Now the legendary coach is directing the Tigers ‘50’ read-and-react scheme defense during AJ Cisco’s first year at the helm.
