Manzano coach dishes out some tough love to make Byrd a better QB
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Manzano quarterback Jordan Byrd, perhaps the best known high school football player in New Mexico going into the 2017 season, squeezed the shotgun snap in his hands, took a couple of quick steps back and fired the ball over the middle into triple coverage.
An Atrisco Heritage linebacker easily snatched the ball out of midair for an interception during last week’s Metro Passing League.
Exasperated, Manzano coach Chad Adcox put his hands to his head and proceeded to admonish the Monarchs’ star player for his poor decision-making.
