As soon as former Mayfield quarterback Torry Locklin, a rising senior, left Las Cruces and moved to Texas in the spring after his father took a job in the Canadian Football League, Trojans coach Michael Bradley realized his team’s preseason camp in August would be a little more intriguing than perhaps he wanted.

Less than two weeks before Mayfield faces the daunting task of opening the season at Rio Rancho on Aug. 25, the trio of Gage Guardiola, Nasiem Alabayad and Jacob Moreno continue to battle for the Trojans’ starting quarterback job.
