Early NMPreps.com Elite Combine Preview

Here is a quick look at some of the athletes from across New Mexico that have already signed up.

Austin Seay - Mayfield - Linebacker

Notes: 5-foot-10, 190 pound Class of 2017 prospect that we are expecting big things from at the combine. The Trojans have had plenty of big linebackers through the years, Seay looks like the next one.

Blake Moore - Hobbs - Quarterback/Athlete

Notes: 5-foot-11, 165 pound Class of 2017 prospect that could push for the starting quarterback role as a senior in 2016 following the graduation of Isaac Amaya. Moore comes from a great bloodline of athletes and should contribute on the offense in big fashion during the 2016 season for the Eagles.

Christian Florez - Mayfield - O-Line/D-Line

Notes: Florez is a new name to our NMPreps.com database of athletes, but he caught our eye signing up for the event at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds and he's just a sophomore.

Christian Brewster - Los Lunas - Athlete

Notes: Los Lunas has some big time players returning, one that you might not know about is Christian Brewster out of the Class of 2017. Just 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, Brewster is lightning quick as a receiver or defensive back.

Drew Ortiz - St. Pius X - Quarterback

Notes: Picked up his first offer of the 2016 season from New Mexico Highlands on June 15th, 2016. As a junior Ortiz threw for 47 touchdowns, 2,200 passing yards, and had 1,100 rushing yards.

James Martin - Onate - Defensive Linemen/Tight End

Notes: Martin is one of the top defensive linemen/tight ends in New Mexico returning for the 2016 season. At 6-foot-3, 215 pounds, he is quick to get the quarterback and he's generated a ton of college interest over the summer time.

Joren Dickey - Volcano Vista - Defensive Linemen/Tight End

Notes: Last year as just a sophomore Dickey hauled in 235-yards and 4 touchdowns and recorded an incredible 12.0 sacks. This 6-foot-3, 195 pound Class of 2017 prospect should be on everyone's radar.

Jordan Byrd - Manzano - Athlete

Notes: Last year Byrd won the top sophomore awards at the combine. Checking in a 5-foot-9, 154 pounds, Byrd who already has an offer from New Mexico ran a blazing 4.43 40-time, 4.18 shuttle time, and had a standing broad jump of 9-feet-8 inches. He also tore it up in the one-on-one's.

Ryan Moore - Manzano - Defensive Back

Notes: At 6-foot-0, 170 pounds, Moore was the fastest prospect during the New Mexico Highlands Prospect Camp held in Albuquerque , really surprised he does not hold an offer already.

Veto Virgin - Cleveland - Receiver

Notes: Was the state champ in the 300 Meter Hurdles this past May and is being recruited by a ton of schools for both football and track. Looks like he'll step up this year for the Storm to continue their strong corps of receivers. Expecting him to be a top 10 40-time guy at the event.

Note: We'll continue to preview prospects that are attending the NMPreps.com Elite Combine throughout the next few weeks.
