The Manzano Monarchs worked out for about 2-1/2 hours Monday afternoon at the school's football practice field. All eyes were on senior Jordan Byrd as he continues to progress in his quest to become Manzano's full-time quarterback. Byrd, a San Diego State commit, worked extensively Monday on his throwing and rushing out of a variety of formations and play calls.
After practice, Byrd spoke with NMPreps about his progress since the Metro Passing League ended about six or seven weeks ago and Manzano's high expectations for the 2017 season after reaching the Class 6A semifinals a season ago.
