Today, we start to announce the winners of the New Mexico high school football awards. The awards are voted on by fans, media members and NMPreps staff.

2017 NEW MEXICO KICKER OF THE YEAR - ENRIQUE RAMIREZ (HOBBS HS)

The first award announced for the 2017 New Mexico High School football goes to Enrique Ramirez of Hobbs High School. The 2018 player had some of the top numbers of all kickers/punters this season. As a kicker Ramirez made 77 of 80 PAT during the 2017 season. He also led the entire state in kicking points with 89 this season.

Ramirez also made 4 of 5 field goal attempts with 36 as his long in his career. The two year letterman made 86 of 93 in his career with 98 career points.

The Eagles went 9-3 and reached the 6A quarterfinals this season.

Enrique Ramirez placed first in all vote categories along with 3 of 4 voting media (not all 5 voted in the category) members in the category.
