Today, we start to announce the winners of the New Mexico high school football awards. The awards are voted on by fans, media members and NMPreps staff.

2017 NEW MEXICO LINEBACKER - ROWDY ROBINSON (BELEN)

NMPreps.com is happy to announce the 2017 New Mexico Linebacker of the Year award to Rowdy Robinson. Robinson (LB/DE) plays for the Eagles of Belen High School and one of the top defensive in 5A football. The Eagles went 12-1 on the season and played for the 5A State Championship.

Robinson led the state with 27 Sacks and one of the only defensive players to win 'Overall Player of the Week' this season. He also had 109 total tackles (61 solo) and 33.5 TFL.
