After a difficult stretch, things looking up for Lovington
The high school football program at legendary linebacker Brian Urlacher’s alma mater has fallen on hard times.
Back-to-back 1-9 seasons in 2015 and 2016 stand in sharp contrast to Lovington’s three consecutive Class 3A state championships from 2009-11.
Second year head coach Anthony Gonzales is determined to turn things around, though, and reverse Lovington’s downward trek since being elevated to Class 5A in 2014.
