VIDEO: Action from the Eastern New Mexico Passing League
Eastern New Mexico University hosted its annual Passing League on Friday in Portales. The A Division consisted of some of the best known and historically successful programs in the state of New Mexico - Artesia, Cleveland, Clovis and Hobbs. Roswell, Portales and Amarillo Tascosa also competed. Cleveland ultimately triumphed, rising from the No. 6 seed to win the single elimination playoff with three successive victories.
The competition began with pool play as each team played five games. Here is some of the heated action from pool play:
When pool play was over, the teams were seeded No. 1 through No. 7 and the single elimination bracket competition began. Cleveland beat Clovis, Hobbs and Roswell on the way to capturing the ENMU Passing League title.
