Today, we start to announce the winners of the New Mexico high school football awards. The awards are voted on by fans, media members and NMPreps staff.

2017 New Mexico Defensive Lineman of the Year - Ryan McClain (La Cueva HS)

NMPreps.com is happy to announce the 2017 New Mexico Defensive Lineman of the Year to Ryan McClain. McClain a member of the La Cueva Bears football program that went 11-2 on the season and played for the 2017 6A State Championship.

McClain had an outstanding senior campaign guiding one of the top defensive teams in New Mexico. He led his team in sacks with 10 (12th in the state) and finished with 62 total tackles (18 TFL).
