Bizarre Incident Gets Coach Fired
On Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016 the Santa Fe New Mexican reported that Santa Fe Indian Boys Basketball Coach Ceci Moses was fired. Why? Well this is where it gets bizarre. According the New Mexican’s Report Moses and her husband Rick Schimmel who serves as the boys assistant Coach were involved in an incident with the St. Michael’s Administration during their recent contest on February 17th.

“With all due respect to the Santa Fe Indian School community and ownership and especially our basketball team, I provide you a statement regarding what took place at St. Mike’s High School. The truth is that Tom Manning physically pushed me. Manning told our players to “get off the court this isn’t a damn reservation.” Tom Manning then allowed his brother to call Native American people “prairie niggers”. As a result of what Manning did we are losing our jobs.
