2017 New Mexico Coach of the Year - Chad Adcox, Manzano High School

NMPreps.com and Tate Branch is happy to announce the 2017 New Mexico Coach of the Year voted on by the fans. Chad Adcox guided the Monarchs to a perfect 13-0 season and won the 6A state championship.

Adcox, took over the Monarchs program in 2012 after longtime head coach Aaron Ocampo took the position at Centennial High School. Adcox has been in the program since 2003.

Adcox is 44-25 as the head coach of the Monarchs.

2017 Finalist

Brad Holland - Fort Sumner - 11-0 season and back-to-back state championships.

Brandon Back - La Cueva High School - Guided the Bears to an 11-2 season and played in the 6A State Championship

Chad Adcox - Manzano High School - Led the Monarchs to their first State Championship. 13-0 record.

Charles Gleghorn - Hobbs High School - Guided the Eagles to a 9-3 season reaching the 6A quarterfinals and 7-game improvement from the previous season.

David Ramirez - Animas - A 9-0 record and 6-man State Championship.

Dickie Roybal - Melrose High School - 11-0 this season and completed a 4-peat for the 8-man state championship. Roybal has 8 total State Championships.

Greg Henington - Belen High School - The Eagles went 12-1 on the season and reached the 5A State Championship game.

Ken Stevens - Eunice High School - Led the Cardinals to a 13-0 season and the 3A State Championship.

Kief Johnson - Ruidoso High School - After a 10-3 season Johnson led the Warriors to the 2017 4A State Championship, his second at the school.

Rex Henderson - Artesia High School - Henderson led the Artesia Bulldogs to the 2017 State Championship and an 11-2 overall record.
