Newton who took over as the Head Football Coach at Los Lunas High School in 2010 has posted a fabulous record over the last three seasons of 30-7 including their 12-1 state runner up season in 2012 losing to Goddard 17-14 in the 4A State Championship Game.
"It was a very difficult decision to leave Los Lunas, I hate to walk away from such a great community and administration, but this was a decision based on family. Being from Moorehead, Minnesota originally our family will now be able to watch our children grow up, play sports, etc.," Commented Jeremy Newton on Sunday, May 5th, 2013.
Newton will be the first ever football coach at West Fargo Sheyenne High School in North Dakota, a high school which will have 2,000 students eventually, but for starters the high school will just open with a freshmen and sophomore class.
"The school is five minutes from where I grew up and when they also offered my wife to be the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach it really was a great opportunity for both of us.
Having to walk away from this up and coming senior class was not easy, I really feel this year's team could be better than last year's. Overall timing was not the best, but this just seemed like the right fit," Said Newton.
