Who Impressed
Daryl Wiggins a 5-foot-8, 180 pound Running Back from Albuquerque (N.M) Del Norte excelled in the running events, proving he is one to watch for the upcoming 2013 season. Teammate Tyrelle Jackson a Class of 2015 Quarterback checked in at 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds.
Jackson started as a sophomore for the Knights and ran one of the top 20-yard split times at the event. The two prospects along teammates Martine Huerta, Carlos Perez, and Dallas Petersen showed that Del Norte's early spring football ranking could improve vastly before the start of the 2013 season.
Rio Rancho's Kimani Jiggetts jumped an outstanding 39 inch vertical jump, which was tops at the event. Jiggetts is one of three top receivers returning for Rio Rancho this coming season.
Really amazing athlete that is due for a big year and not just a testing type athlete. Newcomer from Rio Rancho Luis Torres checked in at 5-foot-11 and 220 pounds and looked like he could earn some solid playing time for the Ram's defense this year.
Valencia Duo Nate Nash and Josh Burbank are going to be fun to watch and very difficult to stop for opposing defenses this coming season. Nash is a blazer at 5-foot-11 and 158 pounds. Burbank is similar in size at 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds. Each move very well and are top 2015 prospects.
All the way from Deming was top flight running back Jerome Sandoval. Sandoval had an impressive 16 reps of 185 pounds, which is big time considering he is just 170 pounds.
From Eldorado you had Manny Garcia jump onto the NMPreps.com radar checking in at 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds. From La Cueva, new name to the scene is Thomas Vieira who impressed during the vertical as well as the pro-agility.
Manzano had some big time newcomers attend. We were really impressed with Charles Counteee from the Class of 2015. Very good lateral movement, looks like another 2015 prospect to watch. From Grants High School Tristan Bustos stood out at 5-foot-9 and 185 pounds.
