Los Lunas Running Back O'Maury Samuels out of the Class of 2017 is the new Nike+ Football Rating National Leader after a stellar performance in Dallas, Texas on Saturday. Samuels posted a 44.5" Vertical Jump, a 40-time of 4.58, a shuttle of 4.14, and powerball throw of 43.0 feet.

Currently Samuels has an offer from only New Mexico State, but likely that will change with his past weekend's performance posting the top rating (138.30) out of 2,300 athletes that showed up at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium.

"His strength and speed combination are unreal. On the field we live off the possibility that he's going to break one at some point. He's fun to coach, he has a great personality, and he has a tendency to make it look like I know what I'm doing as a coach," Said Los Lunas Head Football Coach Terrell Trantham.

As a junior this past season Samuels ran for 1,468-yards and scored 21 touchdowns. Our staff at NMPreps.com has him ranked as the No. 1 overall player in Class 5A and at the NMPreps Elite Combine last summer he ran a 4.5 40-time and had a standing broad jump of 10-feet-2 inches.

Speaking with Samuels yesterday he informed us that he has been hearing from some big time D-1 programs such as Notre Dame and USC, but currently the Aggies are the only school to put an offer on the table. We're thinking that is going to change.

With his tremendous performance Samuels has been invited to Football Heaven aka the Nike+ Football The Opening which takes place on the Campus of Nike in Beaverton, Oregon during the dates of July 7th through July 10th. Samuels is the first ever New Mexico Prospect to earn an invite.
