Silver Baseball Wins Class 3A Title

The New Mexico High School Baseball Season came to a close on Saturday night with La Cueva defeating Eldorado in the Class 5A State Championship Game 5-4. In Class 4A it was Piedra Vista defeating Goddard 7-6 in a thriller, and in 3A the Silver City Colts beat Sandia Prep 11-3. Cobre won the 2A state title on Friday defeating Dexter and in Class 1A the Gateway Christian Warriors defeated Dexter. Also stay tuned for our All-Tournament Selections.

Class 3A: Silver 11, Sandia Prep 3
Most of the roster was not even alive yet when Silver won their last state baseball title which was 17-years ago. However, Saturday the No. 1 seed blew right past Sandia Prep in a 11-3 victory. Joe Murillo had two RBI's and a triple and UNM commit Dominic DeMarco went 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBI's. Silver ends the year with a record of 23-7.
