Today we highlight New Mexico's top 10 high school football rivalry games.
1. Las Cruces vs. Mayfield - Known As: Cruces Divided

The Skinny: It's happen just twice in history: Where Mayfield and Las Cruces meet for the big school state football championship game with Las Cruces winning each time. These yearly rivals meet once a year at Aggie Memorial in front of crowds that top 25,000 (usually a game that decides the District 3-5A Championship). They met in the title game first in 2002 with Las Cruces winning 17-14. Last year they met in the title game again in their 50th meeting of all time (how fitting) for a heart stopper with Las Cruces blocking a game tying PAT to make the final 27-26.

2. Goddard vs. Artesia
The Skinny: The two programs have won a combined 9 state titles since 2001. These district rivals have produced some of New Mexico's greatest prep football players and been coached by two of the greatest in the game (Sam Jernigan vs. Cooper Henderson). The two towns are just 80 miles apart and whether the game is at the Bulldog Bowl or the Wool Bowl, it does not get much more exciting than Goddard vs. Artesia. Since 2009 however, it's been all Goddard.
