In the latest update of New Mexico high school girls basketball rankings, NMPreps delivers its Tuesday weekly rankings, featuring the NMPreps Top-40 encompassing 5A, 4A, and 3A classifications. Additionally, detailed top ten rankings are provided for each of these classifications, offering a comprehensive overview of the current landscape.

Amid a week where several teams were idle, the top three positions in both the Top-40 and Class 5A rankings remain unchanged, with Hobbs (13-1), Sandia (10-0), and Volcano Vista (7-5) holding firm at 1, 2, and 3, respectively.

However, the standout movement of the week comes from Portales (11-4), making a noteworthy entry into the rankings after a stellar performance that included impressive victories over Carlsbad and Robertson. The Rams, previously unranked, swiftly climb to #32 in this week's Top-40.

As the saying goes, "In with the new, out with the old," and in this case, the unfortunate team making an exit from the rankings is the West Las Vegas Dons. The Dons, who held a previous spot, faced an upset at the hands of unranked Los Alamos, leading to their removal from the latest rankings.

For a more in-depth look at the shifting dynamics, updated standings, and insights into the performances that influenced this week's rankings, dive into the complete feature.
