The Skinny: The No. 2 seeded Clayton Yellow Jackets will take on the No. 4 seeded Eunice Cardinals in a rare Monday Night High School Football Semifinal Playoff Game. The game original scheduled for Saturday, November 28th was pushed back due to inclement weather. Today we breakdown the semifinal 3A match up, the winner advances to the 3A state championship game to take on No. 1 seeded Estancia who beat Lordsburg on Saturday 61-14.

Though it's a 600+ mile round trip, these two have seen each other three times since 2014 with Clayton winning all three games: 46-7 (this year), 34-14 (playoffs last year), and 57-6 (last year). It's the Yellowjackets that have the road trip despite landing the No. 2 seed in the playoffs after playing a gauntlet of a schedule and ending the regular season at 5-5. Clayton's schedule included: Sunray TX, Stratford TX, Robertson, and Estancia. First Year Head Coach Dustin Tippit has kept the power run game in-tact and the defense is still flying around the football. For Eunice, the Cardinals have won 6 in a row and like their opponent this week they love to pound the rock with over 2,600-yards rushing this season. While they do enter this semifinal showdown with a record of 7-3, their defense has allowed 25.6 points this year.
