LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Alamogordo coach A.J. Cisco predicted a few weeks ago that Tuesday afternoon’s scrimmage against traditional Class 6A power Las Cruces would be a wake up call for the Tigers.
Turns out, he was right.
Flashing speed and skill on both sides of the ball, the Bulldawgs dominated Alamogordo from beginning to end, never taking their foot off the gas pedal for the entire 90 minute scrimmage.
During the 29 plays of the live play portion of the scrimmage, Las Cruces scored three touchdowns, first on a Pick-6 by Bulldawgs defensive back Shane Mora and later on a 66-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Payton Ball to Brandon Baeza, who got a step on his defender, caught the ball in stride and raced untouched into the end zone.
