Class 4A Boys - Espanola Valley SundevilsClass 4A Girls - Gallup Bengals
It has been a very long time coming but the Espanola Valley Sun Devils have won the 4A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, 55-52 over Goddard High! It was a close battle all night but in the end 4A player of the year and NMPreps.com Mr. basketball candidate Rodney Coles came through with a clutct defensive performance and hitting key shot. Class 4A of the girls State Finals comes to a close as the match-up between #1 Kirtland Central Broncos and #3 Gallup Bengals concludes, as The Bengals ran away with the victory 60-46. Gallup came out strong pulled ahead and never looked back, following a 15-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Complete Recap & Highlights
Class 3A Boys - Hope Christian HuskiesClass 3A Girls - Santa Fe Indian School
In the rematch of last years 3A Championship game the Hope Christian Huskies have made it a three peat with the 40-31 win over Sandia Prep. It is the tenth title for Coach Murphy and the Hope Christian basketball factory. This years squad brought us the big time slam dunks from our MVP junior center Arren Wells who had two monster dunks on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Complete Recap & Highlights
Todays game between the #1 Santa Fe Indian Braves and the #6 Shiprock Chieftans was a showcasing of the sheer amount of talent that the Braves had winning very easily 43-22 as they successfully repeat as the 3AAA girls state champions, and bring the hardware back to Santa Fe. Class 2A Boys - Mesilla Valley Son BlazersClass 2A Girls - Navajo Pine Warriors
The SonBlazers of Mesilla Valley came into this game on a mission as the five seed to make everyone know that they are for real with a 69-42 win over the Tucumcari Rattlers. This game started off with a bang from a quick six three pointers from junior guard Trey Correa (18 points). Complete Recap & Highlights
Todays 2AA Girls Basketball Championship featured #1 Texico and #6 Navajo Pine, in a huge upset Navajo Pine got the victory and the championship slaying the juggernaut and heavily favored Texico Wolverines 45-41 in a closely contested match-up and hard fought battle by both teams as they left everything on the floor. Class 1A Boys - Hagerman BobcatsClass 1A Girls - Ft. Sumner Vixens
They came in into this game as the defending champions and undefeated team but the Cliff Cowboys lead by legendary coach Pete Shock fall to the atheltic #1 team in 1A Hagerman Bobcats. The Bobcats coached by Anothony Mestas had one of the best trios in guards Isaac Bejarano, Edward Montoya and forward Michael Garcia. Complete Recap & Highlights Here
Class 1A Girls State Championship belongs to #1 Fort Sumner as they beat #2 Tatum 46-39 in a close game till the very end. The Vixens came out and matched The Coyotes bucket for bucket as both teams looked to pull ahead, neither one gave an inch however and forced each-other to play their best on both sides of the ball. Class B Boys - Quemado EaglesClass B Girls - Elida Tigers
Today we witnessed the first ever Class B Boys State Championship, in which the #1 Quemado Eagles faced off against the #2 San Jon Coyotes and came away with the victory 67-64, and the first ever state championship trophy for class B hoops. Complete Recap & Highlights Here
Todays game between #1 Elida and #2 Grady was a good match-up for the first ever Class B Girls State Championship, in which Elida came away victorious 60-48 after a solid showing on both sides of the ball. Elida team MVP Reavis Best led the way for Elida as she had a double-double, and game high 24 points as well as 10 rebounds. Complete Recap & Highlights
