Rio Rancho, behind a history of winning ways, great senior leadership (Jordan Lara) and a phenom (Miguel Barreras) look for the Rams to retake the title they have had for so many years. The Cleveland Storm is going to scrap to defend their title this year.

One of the best coaching staff's in New Mexico, the best pound for pound wrestler in the state (Paul Mascarenas) a solid transfer (Clayton Pankey ) and promising young talent. #3 Rio Grande has several returning placers, just not enough to knock off Cleveland or RR.

#4 volcano vista led by national placer Lawerance otero and a very strong group of young talent. VV may be a dark horse than can sneak into the top 3. #5 Atrisco after a great 4A finish Atrisco and Nate Goode look to impress in 5A.

Piedra Vista is loaded and will be tough to knock off. The Panthers are returning nine state placers. Los Lunas returns Isaac Parra, Hussy, and the Alvarado brothers with a strong core are going to make a strong run at state this year. Belen is a team you cannont ever count out. Phillip Gonzales and Wyatt Robinson are favorites to win more individual championships but with that kind of leadership also look for Belen on the award stand.

The Aztec Tigers are returning several placers led by senior Adam lucero. They also have New Mexico Hall of Fame Coach Herb Stinson back into the wrestling room. Santa Fe Demons who may be a lot better than just a top five team when Anthony Abeyta and the George brothers all make the finals as they did in 2012.

St. Michael's, the defending champs led by Korey Windham and a slew of placers look to be at the top again. Silver city another great coaching staff and solid team led by senior Dakota Bencomo are defiantly looking to knock off the champs after last years close point race.

Robertson Cardnials are looking to finish with another trophy in 2013. They are led by Richard Montoya maybe one of the best wrestlers in the state. Bloomfield new coaching staff, new division, same old Bloomfield , they will be a contender, after that, it's up for debate at the small school rankings.
