During the spring/summer season on NMPreps.com we are counting down what we feel are the top 50 high school football teams heading into the 2016 season. We're counting down the teams one by one up until the Preseason No. 1 is released in July.
No. 22 Los Lunas Tigers
Head Coach: Terrell Trantham
2015 Record: 6-5
2016 Early Outlook: The Tigers won 6 games in a transition year, now poised to challenge for a state championship. Most of the roster returns intact but the Tigers have to replace their quarterback who passed for 1,076-yards last season. Los Lunas also return as a favorite in their new district after being runner up last season but will have to battle new district foe St. Pius X whom they lost to in the first round of the state tournament. The Tigers also have, likely one of the biggest recruits to walk the halls of Los Lunas High School...
