ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Facing a daunting schedule featuring upcoming matchups against Mayfield (next Friday night in Las Cruces), Rio Rancho and Cleveland, the Volcano Vista Hawks had to figure out a way to beat surging West Mesa Thursday night at Nusenda Community Stadium.
They did exactly that, but took the road less traveled to get there.
Scoring five touchdowns in five different ways, including three non-offensive scores, Volcano Vista flew past West Mesa, 34-13, on Homecoming, skillfully rebounding from last week’s disappointing loss to Eldorado.
Both teams are now 2-1.
